After I made it I was pretty close to not posting it mostly because I felt better after venting and didn't know if it was necessary for the youtubez to see anymore. What changed my mind is that even though I feel less frustrated, I still feel lost. I'm not sure what to post on here anymore. I don't like normal day-in-the-life videoblogs, and if I don't post THOSE then I have no idea WHAT to do. I guess seeing these high production value green screened professionally lit commercialized youtube videos kinda makes me feel like the ones I make are stupid. I also feel like I'm being pulled in two different directions, because I know how to make it big on youtube but I just don't want to take the necessary steps. I know this is my own problem that I just need to get over and I shouldn't be concerned with what the people around me are doing, but I guess I feel like you guys deserve to know how I'm feeling. Maybe you guys can help point me in a new direction. I think I just need something to bring me back down to earth. Another reason why I posted this is because it reminds me of my old videos. I really wish I could do these ranty vlogs again but I rarely ever feel the need to rant in front of a camera anymore. I'm only doing it now because it actually concerns you guys and youtube. It's "Sense No Make English" Tuesdays! I was introduced to John's channel through Andrew Bravener (who, for those of you who don't know, helped me to grow my channel in a big way back in 2008). One of the things that I respect most about John is that he's been very open and honest about the shifts in the YouTube community, and that he hasn't felt the pressure to change his content to suit what YouTube seems to want us to be. I've had the pleasure of being a guest on John's collab channel VlogCandy, as well as contributing to an all-star collab video of "A Christmas Carol" that he edited. I'm really excited about his cover of "Sense No Make English" (which he sang and recorded himself), and to see some his awesomely terrible YouTube comments. Monster World IRL (A Tribute to Dudeneedaeaseonup)
I THINK YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS VIDEO FIRST. "Monster World" www.youtube.com This video is an absolutely-not-serious but undoubtedly heartfelt tribute to this guy whose delightful style I adore : www.youtube.com He also happens to be a food lover, which pretty much makes us soul mates! Check out his Easter video : www.youtube.com If you're reading this John, I hope you don't mind me featuring your material! I mean no disrespect or copyright whatnot. This video really is a light-hearted token of my appreciation, no more no less. I don't think there is any artistic value to my rendition of his piece, nor was it my intention. I hope there is entertainment value in it at least. I saw "Monster World" weeks ago and that was it. "The Voice" spoke to me. The Voice -my Muse's?- speaks to me all the time, telling me such things as "Make a webcomic with Wika57's improv story", "Draw Charlie is so cool like as a series of Chibis", "Make your own Scott Pilgrim poster"... This time it told me "Make a darker, realistic collage-version of Monster World and call it Monster World IRL." So there you have it. This is just a sophisticated Gimp-collage made for fun. "FUN" is the one word that lights up in my head when I look at this guy's work. You can tell he has fun doing this and he makes his drawings OOZE with fun! My video is just silly. My first legit stop-motion video! Took forever x_x Music by www.youtube.com Here's some information since people are asking :D- -This video took 7-8 hours to "film" -This is an actual stop-motion video. That means each and every movement in this video is a separate photograph I took with my digital SLR. -To do stop motion all you need in a camera and a sturdy tripod. Each time something in this video moves, I had to move it a teeny bit, then take a picture, then move it a teeny bit again, then take another picture -None of this was filmed with a videocamera And thank you all so much for the nice comments n_n The plushie in this video and the green one from the last vid will be on ebay soon :) I'll be sure to let you guys know when
