It will consist of 300 small private artificial islands divided into four categories - private homes, estate homes, dream resorts, and community islands. Flying into Dubai across the Arabian Desert you can see the heat rising in the summertime. Temperatures soared to over 115 degrees while I was there with high humidity from the Persian Gulf. But the air conditioned high rises are an oasis and sanctuary from the summer heat. The government has set up industry-specific free zones throughout the city. Dubai Internet City, combined with Dubai Media City whose members include IT firms such as Oracle Corporation, Microsoft, and IBM, and media organizations such as CNN, Reuters and AP. Burj Khalifa, 2625 feet, is the world's tallest building with the highest outdoor observation deck in the world. Dubai is home to the top six tallest hotels in the world. and the Burj Al Arab (also known as the Arab Sail), at 1053' is currently the 4th tallest. It stands on a man made island off of Jumeirah beach which is reached by a bridge. Designed by architect Tom Wright it is iconic for the boom is Dubai. The roof has a helipad and Andre Agassi and Roger Federer played tennis - on what is probably the highest tennis court in the world. The self-proclaimed 7-star rating might set one up for expectations that cannot be met but if you approach the hotel as an oasis on the Persian Gulf, then you may well be impressed. The fresh dates and local coffee served when you check-in is a delicious reminder that you are in another world. Dubai Airports successfully orchestrated a flash mob showcasing the talents of 55 dancers in Terminal 1 on October 26. The project, which also involved DDF and flydubai, was a key element in a promotional campaign designed to heighten awareness for the recently launched DXB Connect, the world's first Airport Prepaid Mastercard, now on sale at Dubai Duty Free. Not only did it surprise and delight passengers in the airport who witnessed the 'live' version, the video has also gone viral via social media.

Dubai and Moscow's Moving Skyscrapers
NOTE: I did not make this video. It is the video produced by the architectural firm behind this building. -- David Fisher's company 'Dynamic Architecture' have developed a moving skyscraper! The building will be made up of 80 floors, with an apartment on each floor. The rotating building is made possible by 79 giant power-generating wind turbines. As well as the rotation, the wind turbines will also provide enough energy to power the entire building and feed extra energy back into the grid. There are two buildings planned at the moment. New Nissan JUKE-R vs Supercars Dubai STREET CHALLENGE 2012
Nissan has released official footage of a demonstration race in which the Juke-R - the world's fastest crossover - took on and beat three supercars around a specially-constructed circuit at the glamorous Dubai International Marine Club. The muscular, 485bhp Juke-R made its global debut as the official pace car for the Dubai 24 Hours on January 13and then stayed in Dubai to take on the supercar establishment in their own urban back yard. At the wheel of the triumphant Juke-R for the demo race was Lucas Ordonez - winner of the inaugural Nissan GT Academy in 2008 and podium finisher in last year's Le Mans 24 Hours. Taking on the Juke-R around the 0.58km course, which featured the dramatic Dubai skyline on one side and a Monaco-style selection of yachts on the other, were a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Mercedes SLS AMG and a Ferrari 458 Italia.

A group of foreign workers in the United Arab Emirates has set up camp in the desert, refusing to leave until they are paid what they say they are owed by employers who have deserted them. One charity says there has been an increase in cases like this, but the government has yet to weigh in.
