Mud Bog Dragsters #1 Jackson County Fair WV 2010
The mud bog ran until 5:00 am at Jackson County Fair in Cottageville, West Virginia on July 30-31, 2010. The pit was deep and there were hundreds of runs. The dragsters started the night flying across the pit. Then the pit defeated every truck that attempted to cross her for eight straight hours until the "Lightning" truck stepped up and blasted through in the early morning hours. One tough pit and one awesome mud bog.

Classic Game Room HD reviews DRAGSTER from 1980 for the Atari 2600. This auto racing game puts you in the cockpit of a Drag Racing car! Sort of... you push the button for gas, hold left to use to the clutch and push right to shift. Your objective is to earn the fastest time without blowing your engine up. As far as racing games on Atari 2600 go, Dragster is pretty dull. Enduro from Activision is a better bet for fans of racing games on the old school Atari VCS video computer system. This CGRHD review of Dragster has gameplay from the Atari 2600 version of this classic retro game cartridge.
TALA Mud Mania 2010 Dragsters
Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum (TALA) held their annual "Mud Mania" event in Weston, WV on September 10-12, 2010. Hillbilly Proud made it to the West Virginia Mud Racing Association (WVMRA) race that was held on the last day. The WVMRA racers were definitely kicking up the mud and dust on a short but fun fall day. Thanks to everyone at TALA for having us.

Mud Dragster
This is the shot that got me fired. UPDATE: Maybe you would like the whole story? I was doing camera for the weekend news. That meant that I would go out and shoot about :30 of footage each of all the things that happened around town. This would be used for the Anchor to voice over, run some scores and graphics over it and so on. This meant that I would have about 15 minutes at any event to shoot and be gone. This day, I showed up and was shooting a few VWs racing. I told the promoter that I could not stay for the big racers, I had time limits. I had measured out the distance that the VWs were throwing mud and doubled it for shots taken from behind. What I didn't know was that the promoter had gone off looking for someone to run out of turn. Note there was no "other" racer in the shot. When I saw this rig, I doubled the distance again. It didn't help... It did screw up the lens, and the recording deck. And left me under four feet of dirt. But the most embarassing thing happened the next week. I was at the drags, shooting at the tree. One of the dragsters belched fire that almost lit up my leg. I jumped. The announcer happened to be the same guy as in this video. He pointed out that I almost got burned. Then he retold this whole story to the new crowd.

a dragster bus that does a 1/4 mile wheelie K ive found the official website and gotten the buses stats. this video was recorded at abilene Dragstrip Night of fire in 04, unknown as to ho recorded it The "cool bus" is a bus styled dragster designed specifically for wheelstands over long distances. it currently holds the record for the longest wheelstand ever (over a 1/4 of a mile) Engine: Proving the tired old 1960's expression of "theres no substitute for cubic inches" the cool bus has a 400+ cube big block chevy engine mounted behind the rear axle (which helps with the leverage and wheelstanding) that runs on pure alcohol. The site says it produces around 1000 HP. Body: Despite it looking genuine, this isnt an actual bus. The body is custom made from alluminium and fibreglass, doesnt feature a fully completed floor or any windows, has a completely stripped interior but does feature working lights. It was custom built (and is driven) by Ken Nelson who spent 2 years building this beast Extra: the bus was also rolled recently at an event, its status is currently unknown since then audio stops at 0:05 for sum unknown reason. the origional on my comp had full audio so i blame youtube Also why 170000 people would view this is beyond me, I fell.......priveliged

I feel the video doesnt do the Dragsters much justice. However, these pipes are freaking loud. Hope this video helps those who trying to decide which pipes to get. Cackle cars get their tune up at Rick MacDonald's Dragster Garage. Rick, of Pro Air, in Escondido, California,(760) 747-5399, can really make 'um thump. First is the Magicar AA/FD. The old girl has been apart in 5 years and still rocks things pretty good. Next is the Trick Car of Tommy The Watchdog Allen. This car is freshly assembled and is started first on straight alcohol then is switched over to a load of 90 percent nitro methane. A big thanks to Mike Kuhl for helping with parts and tune up advise.

The acoustic power of Top Fuel dragsters
Two separate quarter mile passes recorded from the grandstands of Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA during Friday qualifying at the 2008 Autolite Nationals. A fun way to illustrate the massive ground shaking sound energy generated by a pair of 8000hp nitromethane-burning Top Fuel dragsters at full throttle. These two runs are 1/4 mile passes in the high 4 second range at speeds over 300mph. For this filming I was seated in the stands at about the 60 foot mark, approximately 75-100 yards from the track. The incredible noise & vibration from the exhaust pulses is evident. As anyone who's been to a TF event will tell you, it's impossible to describe the gut wrenching volume and frequency of the sound... it's something you have to be there in person to experience.

How many airports allow dragsters to take to the runway? There can't be to many. This was our first visit to the Vernon Father's Day Wheels and Wings event and we loved it. Cars and planes are still captivating to kids of all ages so an event that combines the two is a winner. Vernon, smaller than Kelowna, still manages to capture that family community spirit.

I took this shoot at Tierp Arena the 11th June 2011 during a TF Dragster qualification round, this particular round is between Risto Poutianien and Anita Mäkela. First i show the dragsters on their way to stageing line then i place my Casio EX-F1 on the edge of the bench aiming on my water bottle and after the earthquake i show the scoreboard.. enjoy :)

During the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Texas Sportsman Challenge at Royal Purple Raceway on September 18, 2011; this is the first round match-up in Top Dragster of Chase Murray (me) versus Mallori McCullar Rodgers. We both came up through the ranks of Junior Dragsters and are now driving in the NHRA Top Dragster category which features rail-cars making 6 second, 200mph+ passes! Mallori is an excellent driver and is no stranger to the winner's circle. The race starts off with my .001 light to Mallori's .036. Because of my reaction time advantage, I catch her very quickly and find myself "whomping" the throttle in hopes to not breakout. In the end, I run 6 thousandths of a second too quick, while she is 2 thousandths away from a dead-on dial. Turned out to be a very close race with the Margin of Victory being .0086.
Detroit diesel dragsters! 12v71 and 8v92 twin turbos! LOUD!
Here is 3 dragsters that are powered with detroit diesels. the peterbilt has a 8v92TT, the red international has a 12v71TT, and the drag rail has a 8v92TT. This was taken at woodburn drag strip in 2007. The drag rail has a C6 transmission bolted up to the 8v92, and the peterbilt and the international both have allison automatics.
Dragster On-Board (Bracket Racing)
Me driving our new 2010 American dragster at the July Tenn Tuck 1/8 mile Bracket Race in Bowling Green, KY. This was the 4th round, which I lost. I dialed a 4.72, hit the tree good with a .008 light, but the car fell off .012 in 60 foot and I ended up running 4.736. Too far off the number to get it done at the Tenn Tuck!

I got to meet Jessie and talked to her as she autographed a color photo of herself. She is a very pretty woman with a whole lot of courage! She's known as The "Queen of Diamonds". An Awesome experience in drag racing!

A superb event with top fuel dragsters, funny cars, drag bikes, jet cars, jet bikes, a jet quad, a jet beetle, bigfoot monster trucks, etc. I put together this movie to give a flavour of the quarter mile at Santa Pod. It's a bit repetative at the beginning but stick with it, it gets better. Honest! Filmed on widescreen but I messed up the transfer so it looks abit squeezed.
