Fine.. the word douche-bag (there is goes again).. comes from the French word douche (huh.. no beep) which means a stream of water which in turn comes from the Latin ducere, which means to lead.. where duke came from! Hmm.. duke.. like Duke of Earl for example. So a douche-bag is someone who leads? No... A douche-bag is actually something used to clean part of a woman's body.. and calling a man that is worse than calling him a part of the woman's body! Anyway... if we can't use the word on television anymore.. then perhaps we should come up with a new term! What would be a good alternative? A**hat? N**-sack? Oh.. those don't work! I'll leave it up to you guys to come up with a good alternative! That's your lesson for the day. Bye bye!

Hey everyone! So one day, before doing a show at OTB Bicycle Cafe here in Pittsburgh, I saw a girl with her friend at the bar who looked like they were expecting someone to meet them. A couple minutes after noticing them, I saw this guy who was acted like he owned the place, who apparently who was who the girl was meeting. She gets up all excited, hugs him, they have a bunch of drinks, and by the end of the night, the girl is totally getting ignored by this super obnoxious douchebag because he really wants to go out with her friend, but the girl absolutely didn't care and was eating up any second of attention she was getting. So I decided to write this song and dedicate it to all the girls who ask themselves, "Why do I fall for the a-holes all the time?" In short, the point of this song is this: Guys are douchebags because they feel it's effective. Girls always seem to overlook what's right in front of them. New Fucked Up MP3: theneedledrop.com Though it is fun to see Bibio cover so much ground on this album--jumping from cowbell rock ballads to odd electronics without batting an eye--the songs behind the sounds aren't doing all that much for me. Not that this album isn't tuneful. In many respects it is. "Light Sleep" and "Take Off Your Shirt" are two examples. My issue is that the songs don't stand out that much to me. Bibio's abilities as a sonic chameleon are really what steal the show. But will only keep me entertained for so many listens. It was a thrill at first, but this thing turned kinda gray kinda fast for me, sadly. Still, a track like "Excuses" is proof this guy can thrill me under the proper conditions. I don't hate the album. I'm just kind of on the fence with it, sadly. Maybe Bibio's future output will do more for me. But what do you think of this LP? Should I have liked it more? Do you like it more than me? Why?
