A live performance from the SINSAL Audio series held in the Igrexa da Compañía de Santiago de Compostela. Based around the Baroque-styled 1801 organ, the musicians Antonío Aguiar (Double-bass) & Jonathan Ayerst (organ) were requested to play contemporary music, in order to reveal another side to the organ. The result was a series of improvisations based on modes and plainsong themes.

In this second of three lessons on dorian mode soloing, I demonstrate the mode descending and then get into more detail on it's use in improvisation. I also disuss the "backfingering" of the pattern. As I have in Part 1 and Part 3, I use the A minor 7 5th position fingering with the root on string 6. The final installment, Part 3, wraps up our brief discussion of this very useful modal approach to soloing.
