doom
DOOM
DOOM was a milestone in the first-person shooter genre and it has been released by id Software in 1993. It was available for many platforms. I know that I missed a lot of secrets and so on, but it was several years ago I played it the last time, and I just wanted to show the basic gameplay. So, I hope you like this video anyway :D As I noticed in some comments, the music may sound different from what you used to hear. Well, in this video, it is the original Adlib/SoundBlaster music using YM3812/YMF262 chip instructions (also known as OPL2). Later, after Windows 95 came out, most sound cards used wavetable synthesizers instead, so the music may vary vastly among each other. I guess, people who played this in the early years can confirm this :) John Romero demonstrated a development version of it in "A Visit to id Software": youtu.be
RAGE - SECRET DOOM LEVEL (EASTER EGG)
This Easter Egg is located in the Gearhead Vault, within Subway Town. You can access it through a main story quest. Once you're able to access this area, clear out all the enemies and head towards the area near the end with the computers. You'll need to activate 7 of them as shown in the video, and you'll hear a distinct sound effect from DOOM for every keyboard you interact with. Once you've activated them all, head back to the beginning entrance, and a previously locked door will now be accessible. You will then find a teleporter that will transport you to a classic DOOM level. In that level, you will find a DOOM Marine Bobblehead. Doom First-Person Scene (HD)
So i finally saw the 2005 film adaptation of the 1993 game, Doom, starring The Rock, Karl Urban, and plenty of others. Despite expecting a bad film (by reviewers), I really liked it. I especially liked the scene where the viewers took the first-person perspective of Reaper. Here is that scene, in all its glory, in HD!

If Doom was done today
Inspired by kmoosmann's "If Quake was done today" video, this Doom level puts you in a familiar place - E1M1's Hangar - but makes you play the way most first-person shooters today are played with cutscenes that disrupt gameplay, regenerating health, linear level design, and more. This is meant to make a statement about games today rather than be an enjoyable level. And yes, I really will be posting download links to tomorrow so that you can play it for yourself with ZDoom, GZDoom, or Skulltag! Then, drag the simpsons wad onto ZDoom to open the game. Remember a different Simpsons Doom? Yeah, there was a different one that was made earlier, but it's quality was a lot less than this one. The song is "Lum no Love Song" from Urusei Yatsura. About the music: Yes, I know it's not Simpsons music. I'm assuming the creator of the WAD noticed the lack of music for the show, so they put in some recognizable songs. They fit in quite nicely. About the switch sound: If you think you know what it is, then you are right. Justice League: Doom
The late Dwayne McDuffie (All-Star Superman, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths) penned this epic story of heroism and betrayal based on the critically-acclaimed, best-selling Justice League graphic novel. Directed by Lauren Montgomery (Superman Doomsday, Green Lantern: First Flight) and produced by Emmy®-winning animation legend Bruce Timm, this apocalyptic tale details the nefarious plot of villain Vandal Savage, who discovers Batman's contingency plan to defeat the Justice League should any of them go rogue. Now, backed by his own army of supervillains, Savage sets out to take down the Justice League one hero at a time! Featuring Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy, Susan Eisenberg and Nathan Filion reprising their roles as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern respectively, this animated saga also features the voice work of Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum, Olivia d'Abo (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) and more. MPAA Rating: PG-13 © &™ DC Comics. All Rights Reserved.
Doom on Kinect Hack
As promised, may I present DOOM! This Hack uses FAAST and snes9x to bring Doom to Kinect! Check out the Zelda hack if you haven't already www.youtube.com Doom controls quite nicely using this scheme though the thresholds need tweaking for more precise movements. I minimize the fast window half way through this so that it stops impacting the responsiveness of the moevements. Check out FAAST if you want to get hooked up with some gameing action. All the instructions are on their page for setting up Kinect and installing their interface. Win32 (worked under amd64 on my win 7 x64 laptop) people.ict.usc.edu I can't help you with getting roms so don't even post a comment about it. NOTE zsnes will not work because I think FAAST is passing Win32 key events (dosbox will also not work for that matter!) If you like my wallpaper checkout www.warheadsthegame.com for a cool new miniatures war game. Music is free royalty free from www.danosongs.com Tomorrow... perhaps Lylat Wars Starfox? Any suggestions for the next SNES athon? Once we get working mouse code FPS games are going to become a total reality!

PC - Ultimate Doom
PC classic from 1995 by id software (original Doom was released in 1993 by id software). Simply being one of computer game history's major milestones, there would be enough to talk about here - but this should not be necessary due to Doom's great popularity, extent of fame and impact on modern pop culture. Seriously, if you've never played Doom you can't consider yourself a gamer, if you've never heard about it, you must have avoided any kind of computers till this day =) Enough said. In this video, Doom is upgraded by the Doomsday port, an additional high-resolution texture pack and a high-quality game soundtrack. This video features the second level (Nuclear plant) of the first episode (Knee-deep in the dead).
Doom - E1M1 on eight floppy drives
I actually hit the limit of my Arduino with this song. I had intended to have the other seven drives play the really fast parts as well, but the Arduino had trouble switching pin states for all the pins necessary so fast. So instead I just got like five notes out of something thats supposed to play thirty. I don't think it was because it couldn't switch pin states fast enough because I improved the number of cycles it takes to do that, but rather because the loop used to do so isn't effecient enough to keep up with that many operations. Going to have to take a look at the Arduino code sometime. Hope you guys enjoy this! ________________________________________________________ Enjoyed this? You know you did. DOOM game on ZX Spectrum
Yes, I know many people has uploaded this game's video on YouTube however last times some people can't believe the game works on regular ZX Spectrum 128K. So it works. Therefore this video is different than others: on the beginning I loaded Computer Tester to display what machine is that (ZX Spectrum 128+). Then I reset it and loaded DOOM game via diskdrive. Yes, it slows down when a hero opens the door (it's because Russian Spectrum - Pentagon - has a bit more tacts on its 3,5Mhz CPU) but still works fine on normal ZX Spectrum 128 and its 3,5Mhz CPU. However please don't expect Pentium effects. :) That's still old good ZX Spectrum 8-bit computer. It's a game for diskdrive but if You wanna load and test it on real Spectrum128, then there has been made a snapshot: mbeep.republika.pl
Matt Chat 53: Doom with John Romero

The real DOOM on a calculator!
Project site: www.omnimaga.org NOTE: I DID NOT DO THAT PORT, MRAKLOPAZ DID! I just made the video! After seeing clones of Doom arriving on calculators a few years ago, the real game is finally arriving on them, specifically the TI-Nspire and TI-Nspire CAS models! It's still in beta, though: As for now, the game runs for 20-60 seconds then freezes randomly. Some animated GIF captures can be found on the site. They look much clearer than in the video, but the framerate is much slower.

The Doom Comic (movie slideshow)
Follow the DOOMGUY on his quest to find the biggest, baddest gun in the world! Marvel as he gets radioactive, is a man and a half, unleashes the night train, is in a completely different place, and cooks with plasma! How dare that Cyberdemon stop the night train with his huge guts! I had an idea for this a month ago, and I finally got off my duff to create it. Lo and behold, WredeEngel already uploaded something similar (and its rather splendid if I say so myself). My idea was different and more movie-ish, so I went ahead and did it anyway. I cropped the images myself, and did some (very slight) editting to the sound to sync it up a little better, but I created neither. I only put them together. Credits (and my sincerest thanks) for the actual content are as follows, with special thanks to WredeEngel for the proper authors of the dramatic rendition: Knee Deep in the Dead (the comic): Created by Michael 'Splatter' Stewart, Steve 'Body Bag' Behling, Tom 'Gallows' Grindberg and Edd 'Dead' Fear.
