History of How Do I Live: "How Do I Live" is a 1997 song, written by Diane Warren, that was released originally by LeAnn Rimes, and shortly afterward by Trisha Yearwood. The song was originally intended for release as a single for the 1997 action blockbuster Con Air soundtrack. Warren wrote the song for Rimes to sing. The producers felt that Rimes's version had too much of a pop feeling to it, and requested that she re-record it to fit their standards. She refused, and the producers chose Trisha Yearwood to record the song. Her more country-style version was released on May 27, 1997 and appeared in the film. When Rimes heard of the release, she quickly released her version. Despite only peaking as high as number seven in the UK Singles Chart, LeAnn Rimes' version of How Do I Live spent thirty-four weeks in the chart. It set a record for staying on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for sixty-nine weeks. The song entered the Top 25 US Country singles chart on June 21, 1997 and was still there in February 2003, a record 291 weeks (five and half years) later. "How Do You DO" was written by (Hans van Hemert - Harry van Hoof) Hans van Hemert (Dutch) was the one who formed "Mouth & MacNeil" in the Netherlands and it seems that 1972 was a good year for him, because I have found three versions - all from 1972 - from three different countries! I have yet to find a recording in Dutch - if anyone has one...? There have recently been remixes by "Party Animals" "Scooter" along with German & English remixes by Ballermann Andy & Die Bürokaufmannsfrau In English, Mouth & MacNeil (and Jigsaw) and then the German version by "The Windows" "Mouth & MacNeal" in English: youtube.com "The Windows" in German: youtube.com The "Jigsaw" Australian version (in Australian *L*) youtube.com Mouth & MacNeal was a pop duo from The Netherlands. This is a rarely seen video recorded in 1972, recently shown on German Channel ZDF. Mouth & MacNeal were a pop duo from Holland. They formed in 1971 when record producer Hans van Hemert brought the solo talents of Mouth (born Willem Duyn, March 31, 1937) and Maggie MacNeal (born Sjoukje van't Spijker, May 5, 1950) together. Their biggest hit, "How Do You Do", eventually reached #8 in the US in July 1972. The song spent 19 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 and won a RIAA gold disc on August 2, 1972. Selling over a million copies in the US alone, global sales exceeded two million. In December 1974, Mouth and MacNeal parted ways. Big Mouth and his wife Ingrid Kup continued and formed the act Big Mouth & Little Eve, whereas Maggie MacNeal went back to solo performing. MacNeal went on to represent the Netherlands again at the Eurovision Song Contest 1980 held in The Hague, singing "Amsterdam", placing 5th in a field of 19. 'Big Mouth' Willem Duyn died from a heart attack in his hometown of Roswinkel, Holland on December 4, 2004 at the age of 67. HOW DO YOU DO? Does It Hurt? - The First Balkan Dogma
In this debut by Aneta Lesnikovska, who originally came from Macedonia but now lives in Holland, reality is based on fiction and vice versa. The director translates her own life and that of her friends to a fictional situation. She lies to her friends that she has found foreign producers who are willing to finance the film. They have to wait for the Danish producers, who never come. In the meantime, she keeps researching and asks all her friends to tell their life stories. The whole process is filmed and what was once intended as preparation turns into the film itself. The distinction between fiction and reality is impossible to define in the end. Does It Hurt? is the first Balkan film shot according to the rules of Dogma, made to mark the 10th anniversary of the Dogma manifesto. And maybe even more than a formal Dogma drama, Does It Hurt? is a personal, refreshing and amusing document about the film maker and her friends. Directed by Aneta Lesnikovska (Macedonia / The Netherlands / Kosovo , 2007) , screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2008 .
