How she wants to fit in more than anything, and will go to any extreme in order to belong with others and win over a certain boys heart. She later finds out that everything she had been doing to fit in and feel like she was loved and societies view of "perfect" was really not what was best for her. It is rare that I state my opinion on things here in the youtube description box, or in general here on youtube, but I honestly feel that I must in this case. Anorexia and Bulimia (which are the two disorders focused on in this song) are very serious matters and if you believe you know someone who has them, reach out a hand to help them. You do not need to fit in with what everyone around you thinks is cool at the time, or what the world thinks is the "perfect woman". It is okay to weigh more then 100 pounds and it is okay to eat three meals a day. Don't do something that you may regret or that may permanently harm or damage you just because you want to fit in, because if you need to do that to fit in with certain people, then you do not need those people in your life. LINK: tinyurl.com Neil Sedaka (born March 13, 1939) is an American pop singer, pianist, and songwriter. His career has spanned over 50 years, during which time he has written many songs for himself and others, often working with lyricists Howard Greenfield and Phil Cody. Sedaka was born in Brooklyn, New York. His father, Mac Sedaka, a taxi driver, was the son of Turkish Jewish immigrants; his mother, Eleanor (Appel) Sedaka, was of Polish-Russian Jewish descent. He grew up in an apartment in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. He is the cousin of singer Eydie Gorme. He demonstrated musical aptitude in his second-grade choral class, and when his teacher sent a note home suggesting he take piano lessons, his mother took a part-time job in an Abraham & Straus department store for six months to pay for a second-hand upright. He took to the instrument immediately. In 1947, he auditioned successfully for a piano scholarship to the Juilliard School of Music's Preparatory Division for Children, which he attended on Saturdays. He also maintained an interest in popular music, and when he was 13, a neighbor heard him playing and introduced him to her 16-year-old son, Howard Greenfield, an aspiring poet and lyricist.
