The Debt is a 2010 drama-thriller film directed by John Madden based on a screenplay written by Matthew Vaughn, Jane Goldman and Peter Straughan. The film is a remake of the 2007 Israeli film of the same name by Assaf Bernstein. It stars Helen Mirren, Ciarán Hinds and Tom Wilkinson. Originally scheduled for a December 2010 release, the release has been rescheduled to August 31 2011. Plot Three former Mossad agents are famous for the 1965 death of Nazi war criminal Dieter Vogel, "The Surgeon of Birkenau," who was (according to the official story) shot by Rachel Singer (played by Helen Mirren, and Jessica Chastain in flashbacks) during an attempt to escape. However, 35 years later, a local paper in a small Ukrainian town publishes an article that the criminal is alive, willing to admit his crimes. When the agents, now in their late 60s, learn this news, they realize that their lie probably comes to light, because only they and Vogel remember how he managed to escape, and how they invented the story of his death. With their reputation on the line, they decide to complete the assignment they once had, and return to find and kill Vogel. Rachel Singer, now a beloved Israeli writer who became famous for her book on the supposed 1965 capture and death of Vogel, is chosen to carry out the assassination if the story that Vogel is alive turns out to be true. The question is whether that story is true, and if it is, will the mission succeed this second time around? Cast Helen Mirren ...

On Saturday, April 14, 2012, APD and AFD came together with "A Wish with Wings" and made a dream come true for a 7-year-old boy, Kye, who has leukemia. We granted a Batman adventure wish for Kye. The adventure began at 10 am and ended with a special ceremony at City Hall where Assistant Police Chief James Hawthorne presented Kye a 'key to the City.' Kye's special day included a bank, fake money, motor officers, a bogus "bomb" and couple of cackling villains whose criminal acts were foiled by the good guys.

A plurality of these voting members are selected by the Mayor directly. The PEP replaced the Board of Education when Mayor Bloomberg took control of the schools in 2002. It is intended to be a democratic forum where people voice concerns, prior to the panel's vote on educational policy. This is me riding my bicycle in Detroit, heading south on Ponchatrain at 7 mile. I was openly carrying two FN-45s handguns one each hip. I was in no mood to talk to the police or anyone else for that matter. I just wanted to cycle and get my heart rate up for 90 minutes or so. I can only imagine that the LEO who was driving the squad car felt that because he asked me nicely as to "why" I felt the need to openly carry two handguns I was somehow bound to answer him. Indeed, he is an agent of the State and may ask all the questions he wants (however impertinent) but we citizens are not bound to say a word if we do not want to - that too is one of our God given rights. The police cannot force their company upon citizens who are comporting themselves in a lawful and safe manner. They are public servants and we taxpaying and free citizens are their masters. The LEO in question as you will hear has forgotten his place, forgotten his station. My God given right to keep and bear arms needs no justification, especially to an agent of the State. I was immediately put off by his line of questioning. The United States District Court for the District of Maryland in the case of Woollard vs. Sheridan wrote: "A citizen may not be required to offer a "good and substantial" reason why he should be permitted to exercise his rights. The right's existence is all the reason he needs." What's more, State law says I'm only compelled to disclose that I possess a valid CPL to a LEO when I am ...
