Armed 11 year old Girl Defends Home from 3 armed Burglars: Armed Citizen
Alyssa Gutierrez bravely defended her home and her life with her Mom's rifle. She was not going to end up, if she could help it, another victim of criminal violence. She first tried to hide from the criminal intruders, but when they discovered her, she ran quickly to a bedroom and retrieved her Mom's little pink single shot bolt action 22 caliber rifle to defend her home and life. "My heart kept pounding and pounding" said brave little Alyssa. After she loaded the rifle she checked the bathroom and the living room to make sure that they were clear of the thugs. She then went to her Mothers closet with her loaded rifle in hand to call 9-11. "I was planning, if they came right next to me, I would shoot them," said Alyssa. Luckily, for the slime ball intruders, they had already made their getaway out the back door of the house. But as bad luck would have it for the degenerate's, an off duty police officer who was driving by saw them jumping the fence and arrested them on the spot. So all ended well, the bottom dwellers were taken away thanks to the bravery of Alyssa Gutierrez. The reason this story caught my attention is because earlier this year I bought my then 10 year old niece this very same rifle, except in black. And then the rest of the family and me went up to the mountains where I taught her how to shot it. I hope that she never has to do what this 11 year old did in the video, but if she ever has to, she will be prepared. jbranstetter04

November 19th, 2011: Occupy Minneapolis encountered a bit more resistance from the authorities on day one of #Operation Occupy Southside than expected. Following two arrests and an incident in which a police officer tried to run down an occupier with a squad car, Occupy Minneapolis formed a human chain around Sa'ra Kaiser's foreclosed home, preventing the officers from boarding it up, and ultimately forcing the police - who had no legitimate legal pretense for preventing occupiers from being their in the first place - to give up and leave.

Former US president Jimmy Carter defended his harsh criticism of Israeli policy in his latest book, saying he hopes to erode the "impenetrable wall" that blocks the US public from seeing the plight of Palestinians. The top-selling book, "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid," has been criticized by pro-Israel groups and led to the resignation, announced this week, of Kenneth Stein, a Carter Center fellow and a longtime Carter adviser. Carter said Friday he intended the book to provoke debate on Israeli policy that has been stifled by the news media and others, who have been "almost unanimously silent." "It's almost a universal silence concerning anything that might be critical of current policies of the Israeli government," he said. Carter's words have led to an outcry among Jewish groups, who have launched petitions criticizing his use of the word "apartheid" - the system of legal racial separation once used in South Africa - to describe Israel's treatment of Palestinians. Carter, though, said he stands by his use of the word and cited the sprawling complex of fences, electric sensors and concrete slabs that Israel built along the West Bank of the Jordan River as an example of the divide.

Hitchens Defends Obama Endorsement
Christopher Hitchens defended his endorsement of Obama on The O'Reilly Factor on Friday. Subbing in for O'Reilly was Laura Ingraham, and the exchange (who would have thought!) got a bit heated at times. Ingraham was rather incredulous as to how Hitchens could support Obama. Hitchens responded that everything Obama has said since his first debate with Hillary Clinton "has been getting better." Hitchens also, reluctantly, uttered rather harsh criticism of McCain: "McCain is, in my judgment, I hate to have to say it of such a person, is losing height, losing capacity, he's just not quite the man he was. One proof of that, you might add, is his choice of running mate and potential vice president."

With a force of roughly 38-thousand officers, New York City has the largest police department in the country. These days, the NYPD is facing mounting accusations of using its strength and heavy handed tactics against Occupy Wall Street protestors. That is until one US Marine Sergeant and Iraqi War Veteran put himself on the line to defend demonstrators and their right to free speech. Six weeks into the Occupy Movement, nearly one-thousand unarmed activist have been arrested in New York City. Protestors have been thrown to the ground, beaten, netted like flies and pepper sprayed. The NYPD's tactics have been harshly criticized, yet the most profound and public condemnation recently came from US Marine Sergeant Shamar Thomas, as he defended demonstrators from cops during a rally in Times Square. Jackhammers Used In Eviction Raid On Occupy Defended Home
In the dark of night, Hennepin County Sheriff's officers raided a foreclosed Minneapolis home that is being "defended" by Occupy Minnesota according to the group. Occupy says five people were arrested, but the a crowd of fifty people prevented the officers from evicting them from the house. This is the Hennepin County Sheriff's second attempt in 48 hours to evict people from the home. PNC Bank originally owned the house (though lender Freddie Mac holds the title now) and Occupy Homes claims that the Pittsburgh-based bank has shown signs of willingness to negotiate a new mortgage with the Alejandra and David Cruz family. Occupy believes that only PNC Bank, and not Freddie Mac, can renegotiate the mortgage terms.
