We were fishing the leg of it when we noticed rushing water coming down the derek, Gas began BLOWING out the side of it and we ran from the rig. It exploded seconds later. This is a tribute to the 11 men missing from the Deepwater Horizon. I did not make this video but I did feel it needed to be up for the world to see. Oilfield workers catch a bad wrap but most don't understand it is a way of life for us and once in a while some of our brothers pay the ultimate sacrifice. Rebecca Tickell has a permanent skin condition called "tar smarting", most likely as a result of being exposed to a mixture of corexit and petroleum during the filming of this documentary. Deepwater Horizon oil rig still on fire after huge explosion
The US coast guard is searching for 11 missing workers after an oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Authorities say a boat carrying over 100 survivors has docked in Louisiana. Several others were airlifted to hospitals, and at least three are in a critical condition. The platform remains ablaze hours after the blast. It's unclear what caused the explosion.

Two years after the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, local residents and clean-up workers say they have developed serious illnesses. Those affected blame a combination of the five million barrels of oil spilled by BP and cleaning chemicals. Though some have settled with the British company, there are still several pending class-action lawsuits by plaintiffs who say the spill caused their illness. Hey BP What About This HUGE Crater Next To The Deep Water Horizon MC 252?
PLEASE if you want to help post this video everywhere you can think of asking the question "Hey BP What About This HUGE Crater Next To The Deep Water Horizon MC 252?" They never have addressed this issue and they turned ALL the cameras off for the last time on Nov. 8th, 2010 three days after I recorded this video! The media STILL has not done their jobs regarding this issue! The crater is now 10 months older and I would guess at least 10 times bigger! People need to DEMAND that ROV cameras be turned back on so WE THE PEOPLE can see whats REALLY going on! The entire sea floor is covered in a very, very thick sludge of Corexit 9500 and oil and there are many places where BP ruptured the sea floor by pumping in mud and cement at 35000 PSI One of the first attempts at sealing the well was a complete disaster and they ended up rupturing the sea floor for miles around! Matt Simmons knew that BP had cracked the sea floor and he was stating it on as many TV interviews as he could possibly get on so he was silenced by either being drugged or shot with a beam type weapon that causes a person to have a heart attack so when they do the autopsy it looks like natural causes! On the afternoon of April 22th, a large oil slick began to spread from the former rig site, and today this disaster is the largest offshore spill in US history. Estimates vary as to how much oil is gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, but experts agree that it is between 50000 and 150000 barrels of oil per day. On May 19th, scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and elsewhere stated that oil had reached the Loop Current. By June 4th, the oil spill had landed on 125 miles of Louisiana's coast, washed up along Mississippi and Alabama barrier islands, and was found for the first time on a Florida barrier island at Pensacola Beach.
