Brother Amir Junaid Muhadith (Loon) is rapper formerly part of P. Diddy's Bad Boy Records, where he released his self-titled debut album, Loon. He has also made many guest appearances on songs of the R&B and hip hop genres. In 2004, Loon left Bad Boy to start his own label, Boss Up Entertainment. Loon started his music career as a member of Mase's rap collective Harlem World (group). Along with his music Loon has also been featured in two movies directed by Damon Dash, State Property 2 and Death of a Dynasty. In Dec. 2008 Brother Amir accepted Islam whilst on tour in Dubai, UAE. He changed his name to Amir Junaid Muhadith. He recently traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest and most sacred site of the Islamic religion, to perform Umrah. He has since quit rapping and now is focusing on seeking knowledge and giving Da'wa. Brother Joshua Evans is our guest on today's show, Brother Joshua was raised by his grandparents in Greenville, South Carolina in a very strict Methodist home. In his teenage years, he became very involved in the church and was studying at a small Bible college in his hometown with the intention of eventually enrolling in Bob Jones University. He was learning to read the Bible in Hebrew and Greek and was very interested in textual criticism of the Bible. It was during these years of intense Bible study that he read the Bible cover to cover a half a dozen times. In doing so, he realized there were many inconsistencies and contradictions. He realized the Bible was not the inerrant Word of God as he had always been taught. He eventually left Christianity and searched for the truth about God elsewhere. Is the Qur'an truly the literal word of God From where Muhammad (pbuh) got his revelations? Did Muhammad (pbuh) author the Qur'an? Is the Qur'an Miraculous? Representing the Muslim perspective was Brother Nouman Ali Khan: Brother Nouman was born to a Muslim family, but later in life he turned towards atheism and then after gaining a better understanding about the Quran he finally had all his questions answered and then turned back to Islam. He is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah, as well as the lead instructor for a number of Bayyinah courses including the 'Fundamentals of Classical Arabic' and 'Divine Speech'. His first exposure to Arabic study was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he completed his elementary education. He continued Arabic grammar study in Pakistan, where he received a scholarship for ranking among the top 10 scores in the national Arabic studies board examinations in 1993. But his serious training in Arabic began in the United States in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and formal principal of Quran College, Faisalabad, Pakistan who happened to be touring the US for intensive lectures in Tafsir and Arabic studies. Under Dr. Abdus-Samie, Nouman developed a keen methodical understanding of Arabic grammar. After chairing the Fundraising Committee and Public Relations Committee of Masjid Al-Amin in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was unanimously elected as Imam of Martinsville (Virginia) Masjid of Al-Islam in 1977, where he served for two years, and led the Mayors Commission for Community Change as well as Associate Editor of the Danville News & Observer Weekly Newspaper. It was under his leadership as Resident Imam in Martinsville, Virginia, where he led a successful county-wide boycott against the sale of toy weapons in 1978. He later completed a Masters Degree and a Doctorate in African History at the University of Toronto in Canada. Brother Joshua Evans is our guest on today's show, Brother Joshua was raised by his grandparents in Greenville, South Carolina in a very strict Methodist home. In his teenage years, he became very involved in the church and was studying at a small Bible college in his hometown with the intention of eventually enrolling in Bob Jones University. He was learning to read the Bible in Hebrew and Greek and was very interested in textual criticism of the Bible. It was during these years of intense Bible study that he read the Bible cover to cover a half a dozen times. In doing so, he realized there were many inconsistencies and contradictions. He realized the Bible was not the inerrant Word of God as he had always been taught. He eventually left Christianity and searched for the truth about God elsewhere.
