Worcester: Older Otis Traction Elevator @ Burnside Building (339 Main Street)
This is the Otis Traction Elevator, in the Burnside Building, 339 Main Street, Worcester, Massachusetts. It's an older elevator, with a newer, annoying fan, which masked a lot of the old charm audibles, like the relays, and the motor. Ride was a little bouncy, and the ΔS is a bit instant, but not too bad. The cab is very nice, and while the drop ceiling takes away some character, it does lend itself to the overall look for the most part. Some people mock the relay logic of older Otis elevators, but they're actually a LOT smarter that the crappy CPU ones, such as the lift bypassing me on 1, as it headed for the basement, being it didn't make a needless stop. On top of that, I did press the Up button, but when I deceded to start at the basement level, it simply went there, since nobody else called it from above. On a CPU controller, the door would close, then reopen, set to go the other direction. Very stupid, if you ask me. It's smart enough to know if to go where it needs to. The lift does pre-door, but it's very hard to see, even in-person, but we get the best capture of it at the end of the ride. Great elevator, and the fake 3rd panel is dead obvious, especially with the brailles are placed on it.

My name is Kjeld Pedersen..I am collecting old radios among other things. Most of my old radios works but the music beeing transmitted from public stations dosen't make my radios sound right. That why I deceded to make my own transmitter with some old unused tubes. It uses the power line as antenna and its range is some 100m. The music comes from my MP3 player but any source will do.
