5.23.2012: Ten students from the Rhode Island college theatre program, along with current and former faculty members from theatre and other academic departments were treated with a visit by Oscar-nominated RIC alum, Viola Davis during a special reception on campus at the President's home. Davis is a 1988 graduate of RIC and a graduate of the college's Upward Bound program. She studied theatre at RIC and in 2002 received an honorary doctorate in fine arts from the school.
