Writer of the "Red Riding Trilogy" broadcast as a mini series in 2010, David Peace talks to an audience at the University of Brighton Faculty of Arts. He is introduced by Dr Katy Shaw, who published a critical volume on David Peace in the same year. [The readings that David Peace made have been edited out of this film for copyright reasons [Faber&Faber] but his Q&A session is shown in full. Students on the literature degree courses at University of Brighton enjoy a syllabus which focuses heavily on contemporary textual material and critical practices, including the work of David Peace.

Bing Crosby & David Bowie - Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy 1977
Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy is a Christmas song with an added counterpoint performed by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. "Little Drummer Boy" is a Christmas song written in 1957, while the "Peace on Earth" tune and lyrics were added to the song especially for Bowie and Crosby's recording. The song was recorded on 11 September for Crosby's 1977 television special, Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas. The pair exchanged dialogue about what they do for Christmas before singing "Little Drummer Boy" with a new counterpoint with original lyrics written for the special, "Peace on Earth". Bowie's appearance has been described as a "surreal" event, undertaken at a time that he was "actively trying to normalise his career" Crosby died on October 14, just over a month after recording the special. Samsung signs David Beckham to promote the Galaxy Note- Beethove's Ode To Joy
mHNET.iN Samsung, the official partner for the 2012 Summer Olympics, has gotten famous football player David Beckham to promote their Galaxy Note. In the new video that they released, we see Beckham kicking footballs at drums to the tune of Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy'. Obviously, the video is edited because even a talented player like Beckham can't go around kicking balls that fast to keep up with the tune. As is usual for Samsung ads, the actual product only makes brief appearances at the beginning and end of the video. We also see mention of the Premium Suite upgrade, that Samsung promised to deliver along with the Android 4.0 update. Interestingly, the phone itself doesn't have the special edition back cover that we saw recently being shipped in UK. You can catch the full video below. I suppose more of these should be coming out shortly.

When a train carrying atomic warheads mysteriously crashes in the former Soviet Union, brilliant nuclear specialist Dr. Julia Kelly (Kidman) discovers the accident is really part of a diabolical plot to cover up the theft of the weapons. Assigned to help her recover the missing bombs is crack Special Forces Colonel Thomas Devoe (Clooney), whose brash, take-no-prisoners style clashes with Kelly's more diplomatic approach.
