It´s Called PARKOUR, There is also free running and other types of movement, but names don´t matter, the movements David Belle (and others) started to do, evolved to a worldwide community and it requires hard training and years of dedication. most of the things you see in this video look easy. But they are not. for example, the first jump you see in this video is around 5 meters high. (16.4 feet). that´sa lot for most humans. I´ve been there personally, And I can still remember myself hanging on that same wall looking down... it´s high. most of those jumps are gigantic. So please be careful. Enjoy.

www.indiegogo.com Together for the first time - the founder of Parkour, the founder of Freerunning and one of the best traceurs in the world. This was a great day for the Tour. It was our last day and we decided to delay our return home to visit our old friend Sébastien Foucan in Lisses, birthplace of Parkour. He had mentioned to us that David was keen to meet with Daniel but we didn't know quite what to expect. And then, while we were in the middle of something else, he joined us. The three of them spoke for a while about movement, family and other things. I know everyone will want to hear every breath of their conversation but it wouldn't be right. Although it happened on our Tour it was essentially a private moment and we should respect that. In the excitement of YouTube videos it's easy to forget that these people have their private lives and they need to keep somethings just for themselves. David was there to meet Daniel, not to be filmed or interviewed by us. After they had shared stories and experiences we took everyone out for a big lunch of moules frite followed by waffles - the meal of kings! So this is the last of our documentaries episodes from the Parkour Tour 2010. There will be a few more 'best of' videos and some outtakes later this week. David Belle is interviewed by Babylon AD director, Mathieu Kassovitz. David shares his views about Parkour, the discipline he created. I didn't interview David Belle and neither did I shoot or edit this interview. That honour goes to Mathieu Kazzovitz. I've only translated the interview and added subtitles. In a couple of places, the words were kind of hard to make out, so hopefully I hope I didn't make too many errors. Here also is a translation of Mathieu's original accompanying text: "I discovered David Belle through District B13, and I had the chance to meet and work with him in Babylon AD. I discovered a man who has elevated his art form at an international level, despite himself. This situation exceeded and motived him. Parkour is, for me, a natural child of Breakdancing, and hides a thought process and way of life that is close to martial arts. David is quiet and reserved, he does not like to have to explain what he is doing and what he is looking for, the work is internal and he imposes it on himself daily, in the same way that his father taught him. The youth of the world are discovering this new form of urban expression and are discovering their own capabilities and limitations. We all wanted to fly, jump, and become animals. David did it. I think in a few years, we will remember him in the same way that we now remember the founders of martial arts such as karate and judo. Parkour New York: David Belle talks with Alec Wilkinson David Belle will discuss, and demonstrate, parkour, the sport he created. Parkour is a system of leaps, vaults, rolls, and landings designed to help a person surmount any obstacles in his path. David Belle moved to Lisses, a suburb of Paris, at the age of fourteen. Inspired by his father, an acrobat and fireman, and by the French sports theorist Georges Hébert, he began performing stunts on a nearby climbing wall. Through online videos, his sport, whose name he coined, caught on internationally. He has performed in Madagascar, Italy, Germany, and Portugal and will appear in the upcoming film "Babylon AD" Alec Wilkinson has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1980. He is the author of seven books, including "My Mentor," "Mr. Apology," and, most recently, "The Happiest Man in the World: An Account of the Life of Poppa Neutrino," parts of which first appeared in the magazine. "No Obstacles," his piece on parkour and David Belle, appeared in the April 16th Journeys issue.
