Unicorn Poop Cookies
Tried out a new microphone today, will have to adjust the volume a bit next time. Here is where I found the idea: www.instructables.com Here is the sugar cookie dough recipe I used: The dough is sticky and need to be chilled to work with. 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup shortening 1- 3 oz package cream cheese softened 2/3 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 egg 1/2 tsp almond extract (or vanilla extract or any other extract you want to try) 2 cups all purpose flour Combine butter, shortening and cream cheese in a large bowl, beat together until smooth. Add sugar and salt. Beat until combined. Beat in egg and almond extract until combined and gradually add the flour beating until combined. Form dough into a ball with your hands and then into a log shape, divide the log shape into six portions (or how ever many colours you want). Place each portion of dough into individual bowls and tint the dough different colours. Chill tinted dough in the refrigerator 1 hour or freezer 15-20 minutes. Divide each tinted chilled dough ball into 8 equal pieces. Take one piece of each colour dough ( leaving the rest in the fridge while you work) and roll out like a rope or snake on your counter-top. If you use a piece of waxed paper on the counter, you shouldn't have to add any flour. Roll the rope shape to about 6 inches long. Continue rolling all the colours and stacking them into a pile. This recipe makes about 60 cookies. These not-too-sweet cookies are soft with a slight crunch and have just a hint of cream cheese flavour in them. They stay fresh in a cookie jar or container for quite a while. You can use any cookie dough recipe that is labelled "refrigerator or icebox" or that in the instructions you must roll, refrigerate and slice prior to baking. The dough is sticky and need to be chilled to work with. ***Dough will be sticky, you will wonder how in the heck you will manage it, but keep chilling it and it will be fine ***** 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup shortening 1- 3 oz package cream cheese softened 2/3 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 egg 1/2 tsp almond extract (or vanilla extract or any other extract you want to try) 2 cups all purpose flour Combine butter, shortening and cream cheese in a large bowl, beat together until smooth. Add sugar and salt. Beat until combined. Beat in egg and almond extract until combined and gradually add the flour beating until combined. Form dough into a ball with your hands, if it is super sticky, put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Turn dough out onto countertop and form a long log shape divide the dough into 6 portions. I initially divided the dough into five portions and then took some dough off each piece for the sixth one. Cherry Cheesecake Cookies
This one has lots of chilling time, but it easy to do. End result is very pretty! 1- 6 oz jar maraschino cherries 1/2 cup butter, softened 1/2 cup shortening 1- 3 oz package cream cheese softened 2/3 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 egg 1/2 tsp almond extract 2 cups all purpose flour Red food colouring Milk Drain cherries reserving juice. Pat cherries dry and finely chop them until you have 1/3 cup. Spread chopped cherries on paper towels and pat dry. Combine butter, shortening and cream cheese in a large bowl, beat together until smooth. Add sugar and salt. Beat until combined. Beat in egg and almond extract until combined and gradually add the flour beating until combined. Divide dough into three portions, leaving one portion plain. Into a second portion knead 1/2 tsp of the reserved cherry juice and enough red food colour to make a light pink dough. Into the third portion of dough, knead in the chopped cherries. Wrap each portion in plastic wrap and chill for 2 hours or until easy to handle. Roll out each portion of dough between sheets of parchment paper into a 6 inch square. Wrap with plastic wrap and freeze for about 30 minutes until firm. Place cherry dough on a piece of parchment, brush with a little bit of milk. Place plain dough square on top and brush with a little bit of milk. Place pink dough square on top of two other squares and press down lightly all over. Trim edges to remove rough parts. You need: 225g (8 oz) plain flour 110g (4 oz) caster sugar 110g (4 oz) cold chopped butter a MEDIUM EGG a teaspoon of water baking sheets and trays mixing bowl some kind of mixer but a wooden spoon turned out to be okay! Decorating icing! pre heat oven to 180'c (gas mark 4) 350'F Mix flour, sugar and butter in a processor until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. this may take 400 years. Add the egg and a teaspoon of water and mix again until it starts to glob together into a smooth ball! You can use your hand for this near the end. FLOUR THE SURFACE, roll out the dough to a thickness of a £1 coin or 3 ants stacked and cut out shapes! BAKE THEM FOR 10 - 15 MINUTES - swap the shelves over half way through! Don't worry if they are slightly soft when they come out the oven! They will harden. Cool on a wire rack. When the biscuits are cold, decorate!!

How to make your own Valentine Heart cookies, just like the ones you buy in a tube from Pillsbury at the grocery store! Although I'm sure there is a tutorial out there somewhere on how to make these, I did figure out this method myself. I saw a program where they made hard candies with designs in the middle and they used this similar method. I made these cookies quite large and would probably scale it down the next time to get more cookies. This made about 18-3" diameter cookies. You can use any cookie dough recipe that is labelled "refrigerator or icebox" or that in the instructions you must roll, refrigerate and slice prior to baking. The following dough makes a nice, tender, not overwhelmingly sweet cookie. HELLOOO! I was requested quite a while ago to do Sesame Street characters. A lot of people on YouTube have done Elmo and Cookie Monster nails so it's hard to be original with this one. But I tried :D I bought these cookie monster socks from Asda on a grocery trip - it's actually two pairs but I like wearing one of each. Matching is SOOO last tuesday! But matching nails to socks is TOTALLY in! The quality of this video is a bit bad because it was getting dark when I painted them, but hopefully you can still follow and enjoy! These are really easy to make. Just make a simple cookie dough and add some cocoa powder to 3/4 of it. This way you can create any kind of fun animal & character cookies. RECIPE: -100g of butter (USA = 3.5 oz) -1dl of sugar (USA = 0.4 cups) -1 egg -1 teaspoon baking powder -1 teaspoon vanilla sugar -3 1/4dl of flour (USA = 1.3 cups) -To make the darker dough, add 2 teaspoons of coco powder. Bake in 175 degrees Celsius (USA = 347 Fahrenheit) for about ~10 minutes.

Pour this into a larger container and add the additional 1/2 tbsp (to make 2 1/2 tbsp total. Stir and let sit 5 minutes before using) 5 Thin mint cookies coarsely chopped 1/4 Cup chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet, but mint chips would be great in these too) 2-3 Tablespoons heavy cream (I used one tablespoon of regular milk) Stir crushed up cookies and butter together in a medium bowl. Place 1 Tbsp of cookie mixture into 10 cupcake pans that have been well greased or lined with cupcake liners. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and the softened cream cheese. Beat in the egg and buttermilk until well combined. Pour cheesecake mixture into cupcake pans filled almost to the very top. Bake at 300F 25-30 minutes or until set all the way through. Here's a quick video on how to make old-fashioned Ginger Snap cookies - with molasses -- and a SECRET ingredient you WILL NOT BELIEVE!!! Part of YouTube Next Chef. Subscribe! youtube.com Facebook: facebook.com My Website: hilahcooking.com INGREDIENTS • 1 stick butter (1 pound) softened • 1/4 cup brown sugar • 1/4 cup white sugar • 1/2 cup molasses • 1 egg • 2 cups flour • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 3 1/2 teaspoons ginger • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, finely ground • Additional white sugar for rolling (about 3/4 cup) INSTRUCTIONS Cream the butter with the sugars until well combined and fluffy looking. Add the molasses and the egg and mix well. Add the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, pepper and beat on medium speed until well combined and the batter looks smooth. Scrape the sides of the bowl to make sure all the butter and flour is in there. Refrigerate 1 hour or longer (up to 24 hours) When ready to bake, preheat oven to 370 degrees F. Lay parchment paper on cookie sheets, or lightly grease Roll balls of dough about the size of walnuts and coat in sugar. Place 1 1/2 inches apart and use the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar to flatten to circles about 2″ across. Bake 15 minutes or until the edges are browned. Cool on racks and store in an airtight container.
