RNC Eve: Let The Raids Begin!
This is video from the first of a series of raids Ramsey County Sherrifs deputies carried out on groups, people and locations related to plans to protest the Republican National Convention. This raid happened at 10pm on Friday night and Wyoming and Smith in St. Paul. The pattern of detaining, searching and then releasing large numbers of people would be followed in the several raids that followed on Saturday.

Police Bolt Doors At RNC Protest Organizing Center
More at www.theuptake.org Citing fire code violations, police have bolted the doors shut at a building used to organize protests against the Republican National Convention. The lights were left on inside. A member of the group on the site tells us this is usually only done to derelect buildings and is a long process that involves groups beyond the police department. Democratic Convention is a success!
Everything that was supposed to happen for the Democrats happened in ways better than we expected. Obama completely rendered the GOP's talking points useless, and John McCain rendered his own arguement of experience useless in his pick of Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska(?!)
