Good afternoon. Welcome. In my opening remarks, I'd like to briefly first review today's policy decision. I'll then turn next to the Federal Open Market Committee's quarterly economic projections also being released today, and I'll place today's policy decision in the context of the Committee's projections and the Federal Reserve's statutory mandate to foster maximum employment and price stability. I'll then be glad to take your questions. Throughout today's briefing, my goal will be to reflect the consensus of the Committee, while taking note of the diversity of views as appropriate. Of course, my remarks and interpretations are my own responsibility. In its policy statement released earlier today, the Committee announced, first, that it is maintaining its existing policy of reinvesting principal payments from its security holdings, and, second, that it will complete its planned purchases of $600 billion of longer-term Treasury securities by the end of the current quarter. Of course, going forward, the Committee will regularly review the size and composition of its securities holdings in light of incoming information and is prepared to adjust those holdings as needed to meet the Federal Reserve's mandate. ANONYMOUS Intercept FBI & Scotland Yard Conference Call #FFF Hacking network Anonymous has released a recording of a conference call between the FBI and UK police in which they discuss efforts against hacking. The conversation covers the tracking of Anonymous and other splinter groups, dates of planned arrests and details of evidence held by police. Anonymous also published an email, apparently from the FBI, showing the email addresses of call participants. The FBI confirmed the intercept and said it was hunting those responsible. "The information was intended for law enforcement officers only and was illegally obtained. A criminal investigation is under way to identify and hold accountable those responsible," it said in a statement. British police at Scotland Yard said they were working on a statement. A comment on one of the Twitter accounts linked to Anonymous, AnonymousIRC, said: "The FBI might be curious how we're able to continuously read their internal comms for some time now." The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced the release of Dr. Paul's "Plan to Restore America," an ambitious federal government spending, tax and reform blueprint that as President he will implement. The plan, authored by Paul's campaign staff at his direction, promises to restore the federal government to its former Constitutionally-limited, smaller-government and less-burdensome place. The plan cuts $1 trillion in federal spending during the first year of a Paul Presidency and delivers a balanced budget in year three of a Paul Presidency. "Ron Paul's plan is the only one that seriously addresses the economic and budgetary problems our nation faces. It cuts $1 trillion in one year, and slashes regulations and taxes so our economy can grow and create jobs," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton, a plan co-author. "It's the only plan offered by a presidential candidate that actually balances the budget and begins to pay down the debt. And it's the only plan being offered that tries to reign in the Federal Reserve and get inflation under control." This Universal Newsreel from 15 February 1945 covers the Yalta Conference - a meeting between the 'Big Three': Prime Minister Churchill, Joseph Stalin and President Roosevelt at Yalta, on the Crimean Peninsula. It was the second of the large war time conferences, preceded by Tehran in 1943, and succeeded by Potsdam (after Roosevelt's death) later in 1945. The meeting took place between February 4 and February 11, 1945, with the Foreign Secretaries Eden, Stettinius and Molotov also in attendance.
