A car that runs on compressed air (that should be an American idea and benefit America's economy), is a French invention that orchestrates old technologies into a new chassis. Engine coolant system and compression testing
There are lots of ways to diagnose a head gasket or to check the general health of an engine, but this video is focusing on 3 major systems. 1) The coolant system 2) The combustion chamber 3) The valvetrain COOLANT SYSTEM PRESSURE TEST: The boiling point of water (coolant) RISES under pressure. It's imperative that the coolant system has NO AIR in it, no leaks, a known-good thermostat, and a good radiator cap in order to function properly. If the pressure stamped on your radiator cap is not being achieved, Boyle's law is not taking affect, and your coolant will boil when the car is being driven at it's normal operating temperature, and may exhibit signs of a blown head gasket. Many have cursed the process of burping all the air out, sometimes even taking several days and heat cycles to complete the process. COMPRESSION TEST: The point of a compression test is to diagnose the health of each combustion chamber. A compression test is a crude test to determine if a ring, valve seal, valve, or a head gasket problem exists. It will show immediately in this test because the gauge will not rise to the pressure specified for your engine. There are 3 numbers you need regarding your car's setup. High limit, Low Limit and Range. The high limit is specified by your car's manufacturer and reflects the equipment they used to build the engine. If you EXCEED the high limit, chances are it's caused by excessive carbon build-up, and a Seafoam or MCCC treatment will usually remove the carbon ...

Operating on much the same principle as a steam engine, but running here off of compressed air... I made this one out of wood scraps and odd pieces. The crank and switch rod are made from a bent coat hanger, in the fashion my father taught me a long time ago. The engine is running here on about 2 bar, or 25-30 psi... it will run MUCH faster, but things tend to fly off and bounce around the shop!

OpenGL programming, simple FPS style walking scene (DOS)
In this tool-assisted education video I create a simple FPS style walking and jumping scene for OpenGL, with DJGPP, in DOS. In a 256 colors 320x200 VGA mode. This is my first OpenGL exercise. Apologies about some little mistakes in the program (such as reloading the textures on every frame). I noticed them when this video was already late in production, and it would take several days before the new version would be available if I were to fix them, and I'm itching to get this video out and into making the next video already, and none of the mistakes actually prevent the content being understood, so I'll leave them be. Most people don't even notice. I wrote a FAQ after this video was picked up on Reddit. However, it is not played through the SPC700 (SNES audio chip), but through OPL3, the FM synthesizer in PCs. Tip #12 - General Mixing Techniques - Using compression
How to remember compression basics... Some other definitions: 1. If you see 'knee' on your compressor, That's how fast, (once the compressor has made it through it's 'attack' stage), it turns down. 'soft' knee is like a person gently turning the volume down, 'hard' is a violently turned down volume knob. 2. Peak vs. RMS - Very simply put, Peak compression will grab audio content faster than RMS. Peak looks to specific leaps in volume, where RMS is more of an average compression that is not only easier on the ears, but smoother and more transparent. Use Peak compression for more percussive content, and RMS for audio stuff that requires a gentler hand. 3. 'Auto Gain' or 'Makeup Gain' - Like I say at the end of the video, Compression is actually allowing you to turn up the overall volume of the material now that the pesky leaps in volume, or 'transients' are taken care of. 'Auto Gain' will try to do this automatically. You'll probably still need to adjust it though.

This system was largely based on a magazine article in the September 2006 issue of American Woodworker. A couple things I did differently are: I put a 5 foot vertical pipe in right after the compressor to help condense the moisture in the air, I also used black iron pipe instead of copper due to the high price of copper, the hose I used was 3/8 inch instead of 1/2 because that was all I could get (the brad nailer and the finish nailer don't seem to care) (they used to be used on a 75 foot 1/4 inch hose and not care).
