A dance-based electronic duo with a definite rock band feel, the comparison would seem appropriate, although it tends to erase what makes the group distinct a solid base in American hip-hop, rock, soul, and pop. Formed in 1993 by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland, Crystal Method is the most recent stop in a string of projects that led them from their native Las Vegas (and some forgettable four-track stabs at vocal house music), to the early-'90s LA rave scene. Drawn in by its youthful idealism, Jordan and Kirkland became absorbed by LA's underground club culture and began knocking out tracks inspired by their experiences. On the strength of one of their demos, Crystal Method signed to Steve Melrose and Justin King's City of Angels imprint in 1994, and their debut single, "Keep Hope Alive," appeared soon after. The title was in reference to LA's waning rave scene (burdened by constant police pressure and a string of random violent incidents) and became something of an anthem due to the endless barrage of remixes and alternate versions that appeared. The Sebenza looking discontinued Vtech Titan X2 provides a case study on several things done right to produce a functional EDC blade. Pillar construction is the first: minimalist in design, flow through, and easy to clean. The loop over pocket clip is another: deep carry at its best. Granted we miss out on clip positionability and it carries wrong (tip down) but otherwise its excellent. Next would of course be the sharp jimping on the 440C clip shaped blade which locks the thumb onto it. Deployment and lockup were flawless despite the somewhat occluded thumbstuds. Anodized aluminum handle slabs feature milled in checkering. The knife was made in Tawain, once again showing that superb quality blades are made overseas (just look at many Spydercos that are manufactured in the same area). The Titan X2 weighed 2.8 oz and clocked in at $36, a decent value (found on eBay on occasion for much more now). Compact, light, and fast, the Titan got many things right..."all the way back" in 2004. Final Fantasy XIII - Juggernaut (HP:1584000) - Chapter 11
In Chapter 11, there is a fork in the road, so I go down the path to see what is at the end. Open the door, and I find Juggernaut. This guy gave me quite an epic war of attrition. Location: Mah'habara - Maw of the Abyss This mofo is tough if you don't know what to do. Here is the strategy: ▓ Bring a Saboteur. You're only time to build up the chain to stagger him is when he does the move "Steam Clean", when he is ridding himself of status ailments. Keep an eye out when he has status ailment(s), and he will drop both of his arms down on the team, doing some damage, then you can change to offense. ▓ You also need a Sentinel & Medic. This will mitigate the damage to the overall team. Sentinel & Medic should always be "on" until he 'Steam Cleans'. Which means ideally your Saboteur is also your Synergist (read next). ▓ A Synergist helps a lot. In my case, it's Sazh. Synergist needs to buff the team, and 'Barfire' is extremely helpful here. I always like 'Haste', too. The key here is to keep an eye out on the chain, because if you spend all of your time as Synergist, the chain you worked to build will drop to nothing. So even though you may already have casted an ailment on ol' Juggy, waiting for him to 'Steam Clean', don't focus on buffing too much and forget the goal. ▓ Equip Ember Rings/Fire Charms, and maybe something against Physical attacks. 1) Paradigm: Protection -Buff up all you can, while healing. 2) Paradigm: Attrition -Cast an ailment, then switch back to ...
