Quick and Easy Cole Slaw
A creamy, quick, easy and delicious cole slaw, that is great served with barbeques, fish or cookouts. 1 bag of cole slaw mix 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 tablespoons milk 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon celery salt 1/4 tsp. dry mustard powder 2 tablespoons granulated sugar salt and pepper to taste Whisk mayonnaise, milk, apple cider vinegar, celery salt, dry mustard powder, sugar, salt and pepper together in the bottom of a large mixing bowl. Put the cole slaw mix on top of the dressing and stir to mix. Refrigerate until cold.

Ingredients: Master Recipe Base: 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup vegetable or canola oil 1 cup mayonnaise 1 tablespoon cider vinegar or white vinegar You can make your slaw with these ingredients alone along with: 1/2 head of cabbage shredded 1 carrot shredded To make it just a bit spicy add to the master sauce base: 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 tablespoon hot dog/yellow mustard Mix it all up and enjoy.... best if you let it rest for one hour.

Betty's Creamy Shortcut Coleslaw Recipe-Low Cal!
In this video, Betty prepares her delicious home-made "shortcut" coleslaw. A trip to the grocery for convenience foods makes this dish a cinch! Ingredients: 1/2 of 14 oz. bag of coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots) 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped in smallish cubes 1 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup Splenda (or other sugar substitute or sugar 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds In a large mixing bowl, place 1/2 of a 14 oz. bag of coleslaw mix. Add 1/2 cup chopped green pepper, and stir together until green pepper is dispersed throughout the mixture. Now make the dressing. Place 1 cup mayonnaise in a small to medium mixing bowl. Add the 1/4 cup of white vinegar and the 1/4 cup of Splenda. Mix well. Add 1/4 teaspoon of celery seeds to the dressing mix, and incorporate them into the blend. Pour most of the dressing over the coleslaw mix in the large mixing bowl. Mix and judge whether you need to pour more dressing in until all of the dressing is used, if necessary. If you do not have enough dressing, just add more mayonnaise until the coleslaw mix is covered generously. Remove the finished coleslaw to a serving bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator 4 hour, or until ready to serve. This version of coleslaw is fat-free and pretty much sugar-free, so it is quite healthy, and you can combine it with various main courses to complete a nice, colorful, and tasty meal! How to make a Heart-Healthy Cole Slaw with Chef Virginia Willis
During Lake Austin Spa Resort's Culinary Experience, Chef Virginia Willis shares how to make a Heart-Healthy Cole Slaw that is lighter and healthier-than-most, and because it is essentially vinegar and oil, it is safe to have on a buffet for hours! Ingredients: 1/2 head green cabbage, cored and finely chopped (about 4 cups) 1/2 green bell pepper, cored, seeded, and finely chopped 1 onion, preferably Vidalia, very finely chopped 1 tablespoon agave nectar Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper 1/4 cup canola oil 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1/2 teaspoon celery seed Directions: Place the cabbage, bell pepper, and onion in a large bowl. Sprinkle over the agave nectar and season with salt and pepper. Set aside. In a small saucepan, combine the oil, vinegar, dry mustard, and celery seed. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and let simmer for 1 minute. Pour the hot dressing over the cabbage and toss to combine. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours. To serve, remove from the refrigerator and taste and adjust for seasoning with salt and pepper. Serves 4-6.

Ingredients: One 16-oz. package cole slaw mix, dry (or 6 cups shredded cabbage mixed with 1 cup shredded carrots) 1/4 cup fat-free mayonnaise 1/4 cup fat-free sour cream 2 1/2 tbsp. seasoned rice vinegar 1 tsp. Dijonnaise 2 no-calorie sweetener packets (like Splenda) 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt (like Lawry's) salt and pepper, to taste Directions: To make dressing, combine mayo, sour cream, rice vinegar, Dijonnaise, sweetener, and seasoned salt. Mix well. Place cole slaw mix in a large bowl. Add dressing and stir until all of the slaw is thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. (For best flavor, make slaw the night before you plan to serve it.) Then just give it a good stir, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Enjoy! Noreen's Quick Kitchen Tidbit: KFC Style Coleslaw
Greetings! Good to be back after a small hiatus. My brother and his family came to visit from New Mexico for the better part of two weeks and we all just enjoyed each other. So there wasn't much video making going on. But here we are back at it with a quick kitchen tid bit on how I prepare my favorite KFC style cole slaw. Simple and quick except for the waiting for the flavors to meld. Cabbage, onion, carrots, mayo, vinegar, sugar and a few other ingredients thrown in a bowl make this very comparable to your favorite fried chicken joint, only you made it at home. Betty's Company Coleslaw Recipe
In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Company Coleslaw. This version of coleslaw is quick and easy, but it gives dramatic results. You may use fresh shredded cabbage (or pre-packaged), add some mayonnaise, crushed pineapple, and marshmallows, and you have a delicious coleslaw worthy of serving to company! Ingredients: 4 cups shredded cabbage (I used pre-packaged shredded cabbage that had shredded carrots. You may use a fresh head of cabbage and chop or shred it, if you prefer.) ½ cup mayonnaise ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup miniature marshmallows (You may use large marshmallows and cut them into quarters.) 8 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained 1 tablespoon pineapple juice pineapple chunks for garnish (optional) In a large bowl, combine 4 cups shredded cabbage, ½ cup mayonnaise, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ cup miniature marshmallows, 8 oz. drained crushed pineapple, and 1 tablespoon pineapple juice. Mix thoroughly, and then spoon into a nice serving bowl. Place a few pineapple chunks on the top for garnish, if desired. Cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until ready to serve. The mixture may seem dry, but it will become creamier as it chills. I made this coleslaw the first time I had my in-laws over to dinner after I was just married (in 1970), and I've been making it for the past 40 years. Its always a delicious change from the normal vegetable coleslaw! I hope you like it! Betty
