Colbert Declares Obamacare Dead
Stephen Colbert has declared: "Obamacare is dead!" Pillorying everyone from CNN's Jeff Toobin to Papa Bear Bill O'Reilly Colbert took on the terminal state of the health care bill ... according to many in the media (except Slate's own Emily Ba. The Supreme Court has just heard opening arguments this week [[include Slate link?]] about the constitutionality of President Obama's landmark legislation, including the legality of an individual mandate, causing some pundits to make premature predictions—which Colbert of course revels in celebrating. The Supreme Court is far from making any decisions on the bill yet, and many speculate deliberation could extend until June. But don't expect the media to be patient; there will be plenty of dramatic headlines to fill the airwaves in the coming months. The best ones, of course, may come from Comedy Central.

Stephen Colbert New Super PAC Ad for South Carolina
THIS WAS ACTUALLY FILED WITH THE FEDERAL ELECTION COMMISSION: January 31, 2012 Federal Election Commission 999 E Street, NW Washington, DC 20463 Re: Supplemental Memo To Disclosure Report Dear Sirs and Sirettes, Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow (ABTT) would like it entered into the record that as of January 30th, 2012, the sum total of our donations was $1023121.24. Stephen Colbert, President of ABTT, has asked that I quote him as saying, ''Yeah! How you like me now, FEC? I'm rolling seven digits deep! I got 99 problems but a non-connected independent-expenditure only committee ain't one!'' I would like it noted for the record that I advised Mr. Colbert against including that quote. Sincerely, Shauna Polk Treasurer Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Inc. UPDATE: More Colbert Super PAC ads available now...check my video list. I'll put them up as soon as I get them. Latest and greatest Super PAC Ad by "The Definitely Not Coordinating With Stephen Colbert Super PAC". A vote for Herman Cain in the South Carolina primary is a vote for Stephen Colbert. It should be interesting to see how many votes he gets. Vote "C"ain!
Stop Colbert
In a first step to reform the money in politics, House Democrats are reintroducing the DISCLOSE Act today to get unlimited, secret donations out of politics. The Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United opened the floodgates to unrestricted special interest campaign donations in American elections—permitting corporations to spend unlimited funds, directly or through third parties and Political Action Committees organized for those purposes, to influence Federal elections and opened the door for the emergence of Super PACs. Rush Limbaugh's Slutgate Lampooned by Colbert
While Rush Limbaugh's comments about Georgetown student Sandra Fluke and contraception continue to lose him advertisers, Stephen Colbert's writers are having a field day. On The Colbert Report Monday, Comedy Central's man of satire delivered a devastating monologue about the Conservative radio host's latest outburst, full of gems like "Rush knows what he's talking about, because every time he's had sex with a woman, he's had to slip her a pill first." Limbaugh is in hot water after calling Fluke a "slut" and a "prostitute" for testifying in front of congress about her difficulties paying for birth control. The talk show mogul has since apologized for calling her "those two words," but Colbert's sarcastic defense of Limbaugh, among other things, points out the host's other arguably offensive comments. Though major advertisers and some affiliate stations have already severed ties with Limbaugh, most analysts say his hugely popular radio show will weather the storm. But count Colbert among those who are landing their punches this round—and putting Limbaugh on the ropes for one of the first times in his controversial career.

Colbert gives Super PAC to Jon Stewart
www.nma.tv Stephen Colbert has handed control of his Super PAC to fellow comedian Jon Stewart and changed its name from Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow to The Definitely Not Coordinated With Stephen Colbert Super PAC. A Super PAC can raised and spend unlimited funds on campaigns as long as it does not coordinate their activities with a candidate. In practice this allows presidential candidates to distance themselves from attacks on their political opponents. Trying to bring attention to the controversial issue of super PACs, Colbert's PAC has so far launched a number of attack ads poking fun at Republican candidates, with a few targeting Rick Perry. Its latest effort is a hit on Republican front runner Mitt Romney, calling him a "serial killer." Mitt Romney has stated that corporations are people and is accused by opponents of breaking apart companies and cutting jobs, hence the labeling of Romney as a "serial killer." "I have no control over that ad," Colbert told ABC's George Stephanopoulos in an interview on Sunday. "I am not calling anybody a serial killer. I can't tell Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow what to do." Colbert blamed Jon Stewart, calling him a "loose cannon." In giving up control of his PAC, Colbert also announced he will run for the position of "President of South Carolina." Is he serious or is the whole thing just a ruse to improve his ratings?
