Pranas Drulis, ATPL integrated student and Assistant Training Manager, who already has the excellent skills of operating B737 and A320, has agreed to show and explain control devices, cockpit, engine failure controlling, comfort differences.

This raw video is of the nine minute performance over Barksdale Airforce Base. Airshow in Bossier City Louisiana included performances by the Blue Angels and Snow Birds. I'll try to upload the HD version once I figure out how. It was a wild ride, mostly because I was in the cargo area and couldn't see what was coming. Thank you to the crew for assistance in strapping in the CAM and patching in audio from the flight. More about the aircraft: An all-Marine Corps crew of three officers and five enlisted personnel operate the Lockheed-Martin C-130T Hercules, affectionately known as Fat Albert Airlines. Fat Albert joined the team in 1970 and flies more than 140000 miles each season. It carries more than 40 maintenance and support personnel, their gear and enough spare parts and communication equipment to complete a successful air show. Fat Albert cruises at a speed of more than 320 knots (approximately 360 miles per hour) at 27000 feet. Four Allison turboprop engines, which produce more than 16000 shaft-horsepower, provide Fat Albert Airlines with the power to land and depart on runways as short as 2500 feet.

This is my real driving simulator. The steering column extension is made by an aluminum tube , the first try to build a pvc tube failed. The driving feeling is still the same as it was with the original steering column. Upgrade to my first cockpit: -two Jaguar XJ8 leather seats -doors can be open -the shifter (really well working) -dimmable surround light controlled by the heating button

Test pilot Major Desmond Brophy (Canadian Air Force Exchange pilot) gives a tour of an F-16 Fighting Falcon (aka Viper) cockpit used for flight testing at Edwards Air Force Base. If you're wondering what test pilots are doing in a relatively senior and proven airframe, the answer lies in continuous improvement and the fact that the airframe itself is far from the only thing that changes the flight characteristics of a modern fighter. These aircraft are inherently unstable and, though they are flown by pilots, it's computers that keep them in the air. When changes are made to the hardware software or weapons systems that give these aircraft their edge, test pilots are sent up to evaluate the effects of those changes on the aircraft's performance, capability and controllability. Landing St.Maarten from cockpit 747. After nosewheel landing camera touched windshield causing crackling noise. For those viewers who made comments (or new viewers who are thinking about making the comment) that this approach is too high and/or too fast or whatever else you might think, here some "free flying lessons" from someone who's flying B747's for 20 years: On an approach on instruments a B747 should cross the runway threshold (= the piano keys) with the main wheels at ± 35 ft above threshold. The 747 is so big that at that point the altitude of the cockpit is 35 ft higher, so the cockpit is at ± 70 ft when main wheels cross the threshold. On a visual approach, as is the case here at St.Maarten, we have to have some more margin. Normally the pilot aims to see the runway threshold disappear under the nose at 80 ft (add 35 ft for cockpit height, so when threshold disappears under the nose, the cockpit is at 115 ft) to have sufficient main wheel clearance. If you look at the video and notice the altitude callouts, you'll see the threshold disappear under the nose at the call 50, so actually I am a bit too low in stead of too high. (In fact I am only too low for a visual approach. If you look at my landing at JFK www.youtube.com you will see that I cross the threshold also at 50 ft, which is normal on an instrument approach. Note: the automatic altitude callouts you hear on this video are Radio Altimeter altitudes. The Radio Alt is zero when the main gear is on the ...
