Interview with Yvon Chouinard
His vision for his outdoor clothing company Patagonia is clear: produce highly qualitative and sustainably manufactured clothing and use the profits to support the protection of our planet. 1% of his annual sales goes to environmental activists. He works as consultant for companies like Wal Mart to show them that ecological responsibility doesn't contradict economical success. If you're not part of the solution you're still part of the problem, according to Yvon Chouinard. That's why he leads by example, lives a simple life consuming only what's necessary and uses all his resources to protect the environment. A talk about a fulfilled life, personal values and hopes. www.seventh-generation.de/en/home.html
Yvon Chouinard and the American Express Members Project Commercial
Patagonia's founder, Yvon Chouinard, appears on an American Express commercial for their members project with Takepart.com. The piece was filmed in and around Ventura County by academy award winning cinematographer Robert Richardson and directed by Scott Hicks of "Shine" fame. The dam that's featured is the Matilija Dam, an outdated monstrosity that sits 18 miles upstream from Patagonia HQ on a tributary of the Ventura River. With its crumbling concrete and silt filled reservoir, Matilija Dam no longer serves any beneficial purpose. Its removal would allow native Southern Steelhead trout to once again use the river to spawn, and give local beaches a much needed boost in sediments (more sand) from the steep canyons of Matilija Creek. If successful, it would be largest dam ever removed in the United States. All proceeds that Yvon receives from the commercial will be divided between five of environmental groups of his choice: Concervacion Patagonica, Atlantic Salmon Federation, Freedom to Roam Coalition, Native Fish Society and Save our Wild Salmon.

Yvon Chouinard, Founder of Patagonia, remarks on importance of being a benefit corporation. From words of Patagonia's Founder "I think B Corp... will allow the values of my company to continue, even after it's sold and its way down the line and were dead, That is why I compare it to a conservation easement on a peace of property, it's a conservation easement on a business. I hope in five to ten years from now we will look back and say this the start of the revolution" -Yvon Chouinard.

Josee Chouinard -- 1994 Canadians Free Skate
This is probably Josee's best performance of her "American in Paris" free skate as an eligible skater. Susan Humphreys had just skated an amazing performance, and the pressure was on. This just shows that Josee was able to skate pretty well under pressure, and is the only time I've ever seen her attempt the second triple Lutz in competition.
Patagonia Founder Yvon Chouinard and Tom Brokaw Talk ...
Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard stopped by the Fast Company HQ recently with his longtime friend and travel partner Tom Brokaw to talk about sustainable business. It's a subject he knows well, thanks to his years of innovation at Patagonia as well as his experience founding the organization One Percent for the Planet, an alliance of companies that pledge to donate 1% of revenues to environmental charities. When companies give back to save the planet, says Chouinard, it's essentially green marketing. Related Stories: Can Wal-Mart Be Sustainable? Giants & Lost Civilizations Pat Chouinard CoastoCoast am 12.012012.mov
apps.facebook.com coastocoastguestbooks.blogspot.com adamthemissinglink.blogspot.com apps.facebook.com Independent researcher Pat Chouinard presented information and theories about an ancient race of giants, as well as lost civilizations and their artifacts. There are numerous cross-cultural references to giants, as well as creation myths that involved them. "I think they were a highly advanced race," and they were said to have a lifespan of hundreds of years, he noted. Mesopotamia and Atlantis were not the first civilizations, "I believe there were hundreds, thousands of civilizations going back to a very very remote and early time in our history," he said. Sanskrit writings of India refer to civilizations that existed hundreds of thousands of years ago, "and I think the giants go back to this time," he continued. One of the mysteries he's explored concerns the finding of ancient out-of-place Caucasians in such countries as New Guinea, China, and Japan, as well as in North America, far before the Europeans had arrived. Some of these were described as "red haired giants," and the Native Americans have myths about light-skinned giants, called the 'Bright White God,' and Quetzalcoatl, he detailed. Chouinard suspects that this race, which might have been as tall as 15-18 ft., gradually died out from epidemics or other factors. He talked about the demise of the Atlantean civilization, suggesting that primitive groups that co-existed on the fringes of Atlantis as it was fading ...

Patagonia's Underwear: Designed for Exposure [video]
One day, Yvon Chouinard, the enterprising founder of Patagonia, told his product design team to free the company's underwear from wasteful plastic and cardboard packaging. His staff balked--he was told to expect failure. He pressed on with the changes anyhow, because it was the right thing to do. The change in packaging inspired the company to take a fresh approach to the way it markets and sells under garments, and instead of the predicted failure it resulted in a huge jump in sales. He tells the complete story in this video clip, recorded during his recent visit to Fast Company's offices. This is the kind of company story I'd like to hear about more often. // Related Stories: Patagonia's Founder on Why There's "No Such Thing as Sustainability" Patagonia Founder Yvon Chouinard and Tom Brokaw Talk Green Marketing [video] Can Wal-Mart Be Sustainable? I finally got a good copy of this controversial, unbelievable piece of work by Marie Chouinard. Controversial and Chouinard go hand in hand but not for the sake of being controversial. The substance is there always, isn't it. There is a piece missing here, and of course it's the end, the last 7 minutes which is pretty heavy and leaves me feeling horribly sad. You have no idea how much I want to dump that on you. I think someone has it on here though. I'll find it, I'll post it. I do not own any rights to this video.
