Cold Chisel - Khe Sanh (1978)
Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1978: Cold Chisel's promo-video for the classic 'Khe Sahn' (May, 1978), taken from the 1978 album 'Cold Chisel'. Note: After five years of playing pubs, Cold Chisel released their debut single 'Khe Sanh' in June of 1978. It was banned by Australian radio due to the sexual implication line '... and their legs were often open, but their minds were always closed'. The all-mighty Countdown also made issue of the line; thus 'Khe Sanh' never being played on the program. Ironically, the song has grown to become one of Australia's most played songs - on juke boxes, by cover bands and on radio. It's none the less a classic. Here are the lyrics: I left my heart to the sappers 'round Khe Sanh And I sold my soul with my cigarettes, to a black market man I've had to Vietnam cold turkey, from the ocean to the silver city And it's only other vets could understa-and 'Bout the long forgotten dockside guarantees How there were no V-day heroes in nineteen seventy-three How we sailed into Sydney Harbour, I saw an old friend but I couldn't kiss her And she was lined, and I was home to the lucky land She was like so many more from that time on Their lives were all so empty, until they'd found there chosen one And their legs were often open but their minds were always closed And their hearts were held in fast suburban chains And the legal pads were yellow, hours long paypackets lean And the telex writers clattered where the gunships once had been ...

How To Sharpen A Chisel Timber Frame Off-grid Homestead Project
The fact that your tools are new means they're nowhere near ready for use. This may not match your expectations, but it's true of nearly every hand tool (and most power tools) that you might ever acquire. It's not that the tools weren't made well; they almost certainly were. But the job of the person in the foundry where your planes were made, for instance, is to make tools that look just like planes, and to be sure there are not fatal flaws that would keep them from working. That foundry worker doesn't use the planes (he'd surely get in trouble if his supervisor caught him making shavings on the job!), and he probably isn't a woodworker anyway. So he has no business trying to make planes perfectly ready to use. It's not the retailer's job to make tools perfect; their job is to choose good tools, inform you responsibly, offer competitive prices and good customer service, and so on. In the life history of your planes, you are the first person they've ever met who actually needs them to work properly—so you're the right person to put them into shape for doing so. The work to be done is both simple and brief, and it will begin building a connection between you and your tools even before you put them to work. Blades must be sharpened; corrosion-preventive coatings must be removed. Handles can be shaped, refinished or replaced. Castings may be polished and waxed, rough edges smoothed, sharp corners eased. Only the first two chores, sharpening and cleaning, must be done, while ...

One Long Day by Cold Chisel ORIGINAL SONG Lyrics in description :D
From the first album. :D Tell me if you want any particular Cold Chisel/Ian Moss/Jimmy Barnes song up and I shall dig through my collections and add it for you if I have it. I most likely will. lol :D Lyrics: City life is closing in on me The way things go, thirty years, Bus timetable'll be my elergy Up at seven every working day Pay comes in, pay goes out It's a week-by-week charade General panic in the marketplace Boss found hung in office Could not stand the pace And as the peak-hour traffic jams below Someone gets the story, somebody spread the rumour People come and go Wandered down along the river last night Call me romantic, I say I couldn't sleep Until the first-light struck me down Padding homeward on the inside lane Early morning, freeway's cool and quiet Dodging rubber stains People talking in a seaside bar I ain't sentimental, but Lord Sometimes I get that gypsy urge to travel far You know I'll disappear some long weekend Find a mangrove landscape Stretch out along some busted jetty And forget who I am You go to move You got to go You go to be somebody You got to roll You got to stop You got to change You got to make a little money And be a little strange And one long day Is all it takes to steal her heart away One long night And it's allright, you've done it again Soft, low words And slender ladies, beneath the cafe fans One long day Layed by dreams Cotton dresses, a Spanish border town Dreams so far From the subway, the crowds heading home Close each day In ...

How To Make A Wooden Chisel • When To Use A Wooden Chisel verses a Wood Chisel
AskWoodman.com In this video Allan shows how to make a chisel out of wood. A wooden chisel is the perfect tool for delicately removing glue from pre-sanded or pre-finished surfaces without the worry of damaging your work piece. Using a wood chisel, made out of steel will work, but it takes MUCH more time because of the care required to keep from making extra work after the piece is sanded or finished. He uses a Japanese saw to cut the angle on a stick of bubinga, which is a very hard and fine grained wood. It's one tool that is very easy to make and use. _________________ Want to know which tools and products that AskWoodman uses? Interested in learning more woodworking techniques? And unlike the router, it leaves nice square ends that pair perfectly with tenons made at the tablesaw or cut by hand. This is a fairly comprehensive video and tells you pretty much everything you need to know to purchase, set up, and use a hollow chisel mortiser.
