There are other commentators, some simply nasty or others honestly concerned, which we'd like to answer here. 1. No! the kids are not being pushed or forced to play. While we consider that music should be part of their education, the priority is that they should enjoy their childhood. That is why they practice only 1 hr daily. They are also home-schooled and have a lot of time to study what, when and how they want it. And also freedom to play. The results have been way beyond expectations. 2. We don't like stardom, don't want kids to be stars and all that circus. They are not very technical (just because are not being forced to practice a lot), but their performances are still pretty good, and particularly Sonne is quite outstanding. Their charm can be explained by their freedom of expression. 3. Why they don't look very happy and smiling? One explanation is that they are tense trying the recording to come out good. Also this type of music is not entertainment. They don't like 'shake-butt' music. They listen to music a lot and they choose. Stefan made a list of more than 100 favorite songs, starting with Little Richard in the 50's and ending with Rammstein (intelligentmusicalchildren.wordpress.com 4. GOTYE SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW BY TWO KIDS IN A CAR
Two six year old friends who love the song "somebody that I used to know" by GOTYE make a music video... The two children in the video are my girlfriend's son and his friend. A couple of months ago, they saw the GOYTE music video for SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW and fell in love with it. When they were riding in the car together, they would request it constantly and loved singing it. We joked about making a video for the song and the children loved the idea. One day, I set up a camera behind my seat and when they got in the car, they saw the camera and got really excited. We filmed it over a few car rides and then I edited it together. Thank you to everyone for all the interest in the video and for all the fantastic comments. Only 5 yrs and 9 mo, Cornelia is helping her older brother and sister to record one of their favorite songs. Rammstein has some amazing compositions, likeable to younger kids too. The first part doesn't sound too good, we run out of time and couldn't afford another recording try. I posted it as it is because the second half is fine and the end is actually great. For those concerned that the lyrics are not appropriate for a child to sing: whatever the intention of the composers might have been, we selected only the middle part from the German text, and added English and Romanian parts with a different meaning. This way the song has a message which kids liked better. Anyway, regardless of lyrics, this is a great piece of music of all times. The gorgeous beaches and towns of the Bahamas are the setting for Children of God, a strong and tender romantic drama from first-time filmmaker Kareem Mortimer. The Bahamas are bound by religious traditions that discourage homosexuality and end up forcing gay men into the closet. Lena is a pastor's wife. Her husband demonizes homosexuality to further his career, yet he's on the DL as well. When Lena discovers that her husband has infected her with VD, he accuses her of infidelities. These characters are all bound together in this intense drama of love, family and secrets. Beautifully paced and with three separate story-lines that merge at the film's climax, the filmmaker really has done a great job with his small budget.
