Chameleon Pt. 1
"Chameleon" is a jazz standard composed by Herbie Hancock in collaboration with Bennie Maupin, Paul Jackson and Harvey Mason, all of whom also performed the original 15′44″ version on the 1973 landmark album Head Hunters featuring solos by Hancock and Maupin. The song has a characteristic bass line and is set to a funky beat. Another notable aspect of the song is that it is built entirely on a two-chord vamp (B♭m7 and E♭7 - a common progression in modern music). The piece has been covered by many notable artists, including Maceo Parker, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Eddie Jefferson, Gov't Mule, Michał Urbaniak, String Cheese Incident, Umphrey's McGee, and James Morrison. The notable funky bass line is often mistaken for a bass but was actually played by Hancock on an ARP Odyssey.

This chameleon was in the Melbourne Museum, it isn't mine. They just happened to be feeding it while I was there so I shot some video. And for anyone who wants to make stupid comments about how this isn't the right setup for it, I trust the people at the museum more than I do random idiots on the Internet. Have I ever mentioned I'm a frustrated wannabe nature documentary host? I was out with my kids at the museum today (how high brow am I?) and we were lucky enough to see feeding time with a chameleon. Baby Veiled Chameleon
Cutest thing ever! This is Jasmine when she was 3-4 wks old. She lived for about 2 years. She laid several big clutches of eggs and then died suddenly, probably due to me overfeeding her and keeping her temperatures too warm because it was impossible to regulate the temp in my old apartment. If you feed a female every other day and keep her basking temperature in the low 80s, she will produce less eggs and will live a longer life :) Please check out my other video www.youtube.com for more information about veiled chameleons.
