We Are Catholic.

The Catholic Church is my home, and it is a beautiful place of absolute truth. Unfortunately the world has tried to define it in ways that are far from the truth. I was inspired to make this video in an effort to reach out to some truth seeking teens who are trying answer the question of what it means to be Catholic. I don't expect this to appeal to all, but hopefully it will grab some of you and help you realize what being Catholic is... "all about." -Joseph K. of defend-us-in-battle.blogspot.com Please Visit www.twitter.com www.facebook.com Note about comments: I had to disable them. After 1100+ comments, things were just getting out of hand and I couldn't keep up. You can always visit the blog and leave me an email if you need to get in touch with me.

How to confront anti-Catholicism

www.catholic.com Catholic Answers Director of Apologetics and Evangelization Tim Staples answers a caller who asks what we can do to counter attacks on the Catholic Church. Tim Staples is Director of Apologetics and Evangelization here at Catholic Answers, but he was not always Catholic. Tim was raised a Southern Baptist. Although he fell away from the faith of his childhood, Tim came back to faith in Christ during his late teen years through the witness of Christian televangelists. Soon after, Tim joined the Marine Corps. During his four-year tour, he became involved in ministry with various Assemblies of God communities. Immediately after his tour of duty, Tim enrolled in Jimmy Swaggart Bible College and became a youth minister in an Assembly of God community. During his final year in the Marines, however, Tim met a Marine who really knew his faith and challenged Tim to study Catholicism from Catholic and historical sources. That encounter sparked a two-year search for the truth. Tim was determined to prove Catholicism wrong, but he ended up studying his way to the last place he thought he would ever end up the Catholic Church! He converted to Catholicism in 1988 and spent the following six years in formation for the priesthood, earning a degree in philosophy from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook, Pennsylvania. He then studied theology on a graduate level at Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland, for two years. Realizing that his calling was not to ...

Lift the City - a Catholic Eucharistic flash mob

A Eucharistic flash mob in the centre of Preston, organised by the Capuchin Franciscans on Ascension Thursday 2011. A small team of Catholic evangelists mingled with the crowd to hand out cards and explain what was going on. Here are some of the reactions.... "What is this about? What is happening? What is this about?" One young girl said: "I've not seen anything like this since Church." "Are they doing this all day? ... Will they be doing it again? ... Are they doing this any where else?" Two young women asked: "Why does God allow hurt and pain in the world?" They agreed it was not God's fault but ours. Then they asked: "Why doesn't Jesus come again?" We explained that He is here in the form of bread, but would come again and we invited them to think about Him now. "Is it religious? What is inside that thing?" A man said: "What is that guy doing?" An old woman with him replied: "That's Jesus. Show respect." "This is so moving! It is the first time I have seen it done outside. I can't wait to tell my parish priest!" Thanks to Sean Zaniboni, Gerardo Gonzalez and the team for filming and producing the video. To find out more, visit acertainhope.blogspot.com

Why I Hate Religion But Love Jesus - A Catholic Response

Jefferson Bethke's video 'Why I Love Jesus But Hate Religion' has stirred up a lot debate in the past couple days. And while he has many, many good points to make, many of his critiques apply directly to the Catholic Church. I have nothing but respect for Jefferson, he is an incredibly talented, sincere, and gracious guy. In the spirit of dialogue, I thought I'd make a Catholic response! My Website: www.makeafriar.com Facebook audiojungle.net Backing It All Up: tinyurl.com An updated response I made answering many emails and comments that have come my way: makeafriar.com PS I disabled the comments as it was hard to see any real charitable discussion going on. It just devolved into bashing one another. I have no problem with anybody critiquing my video, and you can send me an email at makeafriar@gmail.com if you have a comment you want to share.

Fox News Crops Out Comedy From Catholicism Satire?

170+ Fox News Bias videos at bit.ly 25+ examples of Fox News Biased Video Editing at bit.ly Former Simpsons writer Larry Doyle's article "The Jesus-Eating Cult of Rick Santorum," posted in the comedy section of "The Huffington Post," predictably generated controversy, but the coverage of that controversy on Fox News' supposedly straightest of straight news programs, "Special Report with Bret Baier," not only not only cropped out the Comedy heading at the top of the article, but also failed to ever mention the article was posted in the comedy category, and even made it sound like the author only came up with the claim his article was satirical after the fact, as I show in this video. The clip I use of Shannon Bream comes from a longer segment of Fox News' March 1, 2012, broadcast of "Special Report with Bret Baier," available online at bit.ly The image I use of Larry Doyle's February 28, 2012, article "The Jesus-Eating Cult of Rick Santorum" comes from the Huffington Post page at huff.to The quote I use of Larry Doyle's February 24, 2012, follow-up article "Dear Catholics: I Am Heartily Sorry, etc." comes from the Huffington Post page at huff.to
