This huge A-10 Warthog RC model plane suffered not one but two engine fires shortly after takeoff. Skillful piloting prevented a crash and a lot of fire extinguishers enabled the model to be saved but it was pretty spectacular. What's more unusual than a team hitting back-to-back homers? How about one fan catching both of them. That's what Caleb Lloyd did on Monday night at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. The 20-year-old junior from Thomas More College was in left field when Reds pitcher Mike Leake hit his first career homer in the fourth inning. The ball went directly to Lloyd, who had never caught a ball at a game. Three pitches later, shortstop Zack Cozart hit another one to the same area. The ball bounced right to Lloyd, who had one free hand. He gave the second home run ball to the friend who had convinced him to go to the game and provided the tickets. Knowing it was Leake's first career homer, Lloyd saved that ball and offered it to the pitcher for an autograph after the game. The Reds beat the Atlanta Braves 4-1.

Chinese catches fish with 617 kg
The 617kg Kaluga fish was caught on Tuesday in Heilongjiang River, at Tongjiang, a city that borders Russia in northeast China. The Kaluga is a large predatory sturgeon only found in the Heilongjiang River basin. Chen Lin, the fisherman who caught the fish said it was the biggest he had ever seen. Chen, along with fellow fishermen, sent the fish to a local sturgeon breeding station. According to breeders, the sturgeon is a female and is currently carrying about 1.2 million eggs. Staff at the station will collect the roe and implement artificial insemination. The fish fry will be released into the Heilongjiang River. Kaluga fish are believed to have existed for 130 million years and are claimed to be the largest freshwater fish in the world. The fish is listed as critically endangered, having been fished to near extinction for its valuable roe
