In addition, he has released five full-length LPs over the span of his twelve year career. Although none of his solo releases have achieved significant commercial success, Owens has garnered a following amongst devoted hip hop fans, partially due to the rise in popularity of Bay Area hip hop. 1994's Fear Itself is of significance to Owens' career. It is his only major label-marketed album and features various members of his crew, Hieroglyphics, on vocals and production. The album also features a prominent cameo from Bay Area rapper Saafir. The album follows a traditional format: its songs adhere to a verse-chorus-verse arrangement, and the up-tempo and slower tracks are contrasted against each other. The popularity of the album's second single, "I Didn't Mean To" exposed Owens to a wider audience. He released three follow-up albums after "Fear Itself", one of which ("He Think He Raw") was distributed by Sony-affiliated distributor Red Urban. Owens is now a community activist. In 2006, he took on a role as Music Production and Media Arts Consultant at Youth Uprising. Jonathan Owens currently holds a seat on the City of Oakland Board of Cultural Affairs. A few weeks back I read a facebook message from a lovely girl from Jade, who told me some very, very sad news. Her 15 year old friend Rebecca, had lost her brave fight against cancer. Jade and I have email chatted back and forth and she told me that Rebecca had watched my IMATS OOTD (wearing this navy dress) and that she was going to buy herself one when she got better, which sadly, she never did. I'd like to dedicate this video to Rebecca, Jade and all of Rebecca's family, who must be going through the absolute worst of times. I have told Jade that I will ask my Mum (who now lives in heaven herself), to go and find Rebecca and give her the guided heavenly tour. Vlog Channel: www.youtube.com Twitter: twitter.com Blog: www.cerinebabyyish.blogspot.com Hair straightener used www.flatironexperts.com I have already created a hot rollers tutorial to create water (mool gyul) waves, as seen on many Korean celebrities such as Tiffany (SNSD) and Yoobin (Wonder Girls) and I noticed that in a comments a lot of people wanted another option so here it is :) If you're doing this with a straightener you have the option of creating the very messy, sexy and effortless look or you can create the very organized and proper Korean mool gyul waves (more control with wave size and direction) I really really love both of these, the water waves to be worn just as is and the mermaid waves to be worn incorporated into other styles. They both add interesting texture and really help spiff up anything from your average braid to a fancy updo. I actually planned to upload something else before this tutorial, but since I refer to water/mermaid waves in that upcoming updo, I figured it would probs make more sense to have this up first.
