It's the second step in every knitting project—and you don't have to be a Professor to know how to do it. To complete this How-To you will need: A knitting needle with a slipknot of yarn attached Step 1: Hold needle & yarn Hold the needle in your left hand at the point where the knot sits on the needle. Hold the tail end of the yarn under your finger to keep it out of the way. Tip: As a beginner, use thicker needles—they're easier to maneuver. Step 2: Make "gun" Make a "gun" of your right hand and grip the attached end of the yarn under your 3 bent fingers. Your left hand and needle should be held above the gun. Step 3: Point "gun" Point your "gun" straight up so your right hand is now making a "number one" with your thumb pointed out to the side, while also dropping your left hand down to the side with the needle pointing up.Ê The yarn should now be wrapped behind your right forefinger. This creates a nice, stretchy edge that works well for stockinette stitch or for ribbing. Easy to knit from, easy to pick up stitches from, this is also the fastest cast-on I know, once you get the hang of it. It's even faster than Single Cast-On when you take into account that this method creates an already knitted row. (By the way, purl the first row if working stockinette on straight needles, because of the already-knitted row this creates.) Recommended for beginners, or anyone. ...Calculate 1/2" - 1" of yarn per stitch for the "long tail" that is required for this cast-on method. Let the tail dangle from the thumb of the left hand, so that it can untwist occasionally as you go (the thumb side gets twisted).

www.permies.com Sometimes you get some petrified crud on your cast iron skillet. An easy trick is to boil a bit of water and use your flat edged stainless steel spatula to gently remove the gick. Since a cast iron skillet is gonna have layers of seasoning on it, you wanna gently remove the crusty gick while leaving the seasoning layers behind. This is my griswold cast iron skillet. Probably around a hundred years old and still going strong. It has a good, glassy surface. Normally, when cooking with a cast iron skillet, the idea is to use techniques such that nothing sticks. How to complete the Call of the Dead achievement / easter egg Ensemble Cast. ------------------------------------------------------ The Dials: Go to the top of the lighthouse and set the dial to the number 2. Then go to the second floor of the lighthouse and change that switch until the floor above, or the third floor is set to the number 7. After that change the very bottom floor to the number 6. The next step is to change the third floor until the second floor's dial is set to the number 4. Lastly head back up to the top floor, which should now be set to the number 1. Change it to the number 2 and that should do the trick. Radios: 1st - Below the power room. 2nd - Next to the Stamin-Up perk-a-cola. 3rd - Around the MP40. 4th - Easter egg/original characters room. Very Stretchy Cast-on for Double and Single Ribbing by Tillybuddy
Demonstration of a stretchy cast-on which I invented (?) and which is good for double and single ribbing, great for top down socks, glove and hat cuffs and any item needing a very stretchy cast-on. For a shorter video demonstrating this cast-on see my YouTube channel. This is a knitted -on type cast-on using 2 needles to form stitches on the left needle and is demonstrated in the 'english style' of knitting. For knitting in the round it is easiest to cast the stitches onto a straight needle and then transfer then onto a set of double pointed needles. Please let me know how you get on with this and if you have seen a similar type of cast-on anywhere else.

Life Casting: How to Make a Mold of Your Hand with Alginate
www.smooth-on.com for more lifecasting projects. Making a Mold and Casting of a Human Hand Using Alja-Safe Alginate from Smooth-On. Step One: Measure and Mix Mix Ratio: 1 part Alja-Safe to 1 part water by volume. Add first cup of Alja-Safe and begin mixing. Add second and third cups of Alja-Safe. Mix to a creamy consistency, no lumps. Step Two: Pose Hand and Immerse Slowing into the Alja-Safe Wet the model's hand before placing it into the Alja-Safe. Keep hand 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) above the bottom of the container. Let Alja-Safe set for 8-10 minutes, until solid. Step Three: Demold Slowly and carefully remove hand. Removing the model too fast may result in a tear in the mold. Ready to cast. Step Four: Casting into the Alja-Safe Mold with Smooth-Cast 300Q Ultra-Fast Urethane Resin Apply Universal Release Agent. Dispense Part A. Dispense Part B. Combine both parts in mixing container. Mix thoroughly. Rotate mold to minimize air entrapment. Plastic will cure in less than one minute. Step Five: Demold the Resin Casting Perfectly detailed reproduction. Apply primer. Apply paint. How long did it take to make the mold? Start to Finish: 25 Minutes How long did it take to make the casting? Start to Finish: 15 Minutes How much Alja-Safe was used?
