Rinspeed's first underwater Car
Rinspeed will present its new sQuba, the worlds first diving car, at the Geneva Motor Show (March 6-16). The car is not only able to drive on roads autonomously with a push of a button (thus without a driver, passenger or further assistance), but can also transform into an amphibious vehicle which can be submerged in water up to 10 meters (33 feet). An electric motor with powerful torque drives the rear wheels, while the propulsion on the water is ensured by two propellers in the stern and two powerful jet drives in the bow propelling the vehicle under water while diving. When underwater, the driver and passenger are enclosed in the vehicle thanks to light weight body components made of futuristic Carbon Nano Tubes and are supplied with fresh breathing air by the self-contained on-board system.

Having safely completed over 200000 miles of computer-led driving, we wanted to share one of our favorite moments. DEA and Police seizing exotic cars worth millions

There was a warehouse full of exotic and muscle cars being seized by the DEA and US Marshalls. All the cars combined are worth upwards of 4 million dollars. Some of the exotics which were seized which weren't in the video included a Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren Roadster, Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR, Diablo Roadster, and a Rolls Royce Drophead which you can slightly see at one point. Checkout all the cars in the video as most of them are heavily modified. This was one incredible collection! Enjoy!

And in a movie like Fast & Furious (opening April 3) the cars do a lot of storytelling. We should know; we went behind the scenes. In October of 2007, Dennis McCarthy was hired as the picture car coordinator for Fast & Furious, and after leasing a 60000-square-foot shop in Southern California's San Fernando Valley and hiring a staff of mechanics and fabricators, he got started building the 240 or so cars that would be needed for the production — to portray about a dozen on-screen cars tied to a character. After all, duplicates were needed of every car to ensure the production never had to slow down; to perform specific stunts; and to be wrecked in the most spectacular way possible. Using documentation from the production's picture car department and in-person interviews with McCarthy and his hard-working team of fabricators, Inside Line has created the most comprehensive guide to this year's hottest movie cars. Woburn, MA June 3, 2009: Terrafugia, Inc. has successfully completed the flight testing program designed for its Transition Roadable Aircraft Proof of Concept. Having been dubbed The Flying Car, the Transition completed its historic first flight on March 5, 2009 with 27 additional flights completed over the next several weeks. The successful completion of flight-testing with the Proof of Concept concludes the first stage of a four stage process to bring the Transition into production. Work is underway on Stage 2, the Beta Prototype. First delivery is expected in 2011. The Proof of Concept vehicle is the first and only Transition to be built thus far. It has now achieved its goals by demonstrating driving, flying, and automated transformation between the two in one integrated aircraft. The flights conducted a plan set specifically for the Transition: characteristics such as handling, performance, and take-off and landing, stability and stall were evaluated. B-Roll footage is available of representative flights. The flight-testing program demonstrated the safety of the vehicle in the air while identifying modifications that will be incorporated into the next Transition model to be built, the Beta Prototype. Test Pilot Colonel (Retired) Phil Meteer had a positive review of flying the POC: I would like to keep flying this Proof of Concept vehicle, but it makes sense to move on to the Beta Prototype. 260 MPH Crash -- In Car Footage
During the October 2010 Bonneville World Finals, Danny Thompson (driver of the world's fastest mustang) lifted off of the salt at approximately 264.7 MPH. Insufficient downforce sent the car flipping end over end into the air. It travelled over eleven hundred feet before touching down again and continuing to tumble. Danny suffered no injuries, nor did his iPhone 4, which was tucked into the front of his uniform. It was a testament to safety equipment and the astounding work performed by the crew at Hajek Racing.
