Shotgun Tank Round - XM1028 120mm Canister Tank Cartridge
The Tank Cartridge, 120mm, Canister, XM1028, is a tank round comprised of 1150 (est.) tungsten balls, which are expelled upon muzzle exit. There is no fuse on this round. While the dispersion pattern increases with range as the velocity of the balls decreases, the dense tungsten balls are used to minimize the velocity fall-off. This program responds to the USFK urgency of need signed by the CINC in Dec '99. RAPT Initiative Funding to be used for 6.0M in FY02 to accelerate development by one year earlier than previously planned. This round meets urgent CINC, USFK requirements to provide effective rapid lethal reaction against massed assaulting infantry armed with hand held anti-tank and automatic weapons at close range (500 meters or less) thereby improving survivability. Additionally, this round will significantly increase the tank's lethality and enhance the tank crew's survivability. This additional capability will give the Abrams Tank the ability to survive RPG ambushes and to fully support friendly infantry assaults. The M1028 Integrated Product Team achieved type classification standard of the canister round on 24 June 2005. The achievement followed closely their urgent release action, with rounds from early lots already headed to where they will do the most good. In order to give you an idea of the difference between these products, I fire at least one shell of each. The small 1" shells are not very impressive by themselves, but they are quite impressive when large quantities are stringed together. The 1 ¾" Artillery Shells are the most commonly found aerial shell. The Critical Acclaim has a very unique performance that is very impressive. Finally, the Excalibur Shells are simply the best. sump filter DIY freshwater filtration canister media K1 HOB aquarium large fish tank
Firstly I do apologise for my babbling on the video and hope you can understand it. I'm not lining up to be an actor or voice over any time soon! This is my 8ft tank with a 5ft sump filter in the cabinet under tank, I have updated this from my previous post and tried to explain how it works. I have a built in an overflow box at one end of the tank. Filtering starts off with the water overflowing into two leaf gutter guards which have wire mesh to collect any large partials, under that is white filter wool and under that I have Japanese filter matting. From there the water flows down and stirrers up where I have now added the K1 filter media, this is stopped from going down the Durso pipe by Japanese filter matting which acts like a Matten filter. From there the water flows down the Durso pipe and to the sump filter, first chamber is where the water enters and flows through to fine black sponge, second chamber has two large black rough sponge's, third chamber has Japanese filter matting with a layer of blue bio balls (not needed, don't know why I put them in), from there water flows onto a tray of Ehiem substrat pro, within this chamber is the heater, a pump used to get water to the UVC and back, and the Eheim 5000 lph pump used to retune the water to the main tank.
