Camstudio settings - Extremly high quality.
This video is showing the settings that I used for Camstudio, although you won't get HD with these settings they are very high quality with no pixelation or any audio problems. I found some of these settings on duncsweb.com (made by Youtube user MobilePhone2003) Now remember I didn't use all of the settings that were on that website. On the topic of websites, here is the link to download camstudio and it's lossless codec(Download the EXE version of the codec it's quicker) camstudio.org Also I should mention I did't use Windows Movie maker or any other video editor. The file size is quite goood for it's amazingly high quality. So it's a must for all Youtubers out there. I would like to thank http for providing these settings. I have one problem with thiese settings is that they make the upload time longer.

I just created this video after a bit of trial and error (and research!) that demonstrates how to set up CamStudio 2.5 so that the audio and video stay in synchronization throughout the length of the video. Getting CamStudio to synchronize the video to the audio requires that the "Playback Rate" in Video Options divides evenly into 1000 milliseconds, resulting in the entry that goes in the box above it, "Capture Frames Every". This basically means that you have five options for playback rate per second (as CamStudio does not allow fractional entries in the "Capture Frames Every" box). You must use, therefore, 40 milliseconds with 25 frames/sec, or 50 milliseconds with 20 frames/sec, or 100 milliseconds with 10 frames per second, or, if you are a mad scientist, 20 milliseconds with 50 frames/sec or 25 milliseconds with 40 frames/sec. The first two settings mentioned are plenty adequate for 90% of applications, though. Any other settings will cause a lag to develop in the audio that will get worse and worse as time passes. The Camstudio software is called screen capture software because it will record your screen while you move your mouse around and use software. By clicking under Options you can choose to use a microphone. I use a $20 Logitech microphone. You can also cilck under Options for Curser Options to add aa highlighter to the curser so it's easier for viewers to follow it. You have choices of shapes and colors for the highlighter. There are buttons for Start, Pause and Stop. When you click Stop a box comes up to save the video. You type in a title for it and browse to the place where you wish to save it. I usually save them to the desktop. If you want to upload it to youtube then go to youtube, click Upload, and browse for your video on the desktop to choose it.

I found a solution to that problem. It is a 64-bits issue. (usually, sometimes for 32-bit users) 1. Install codec normally (if not done yet). 2. Extract the codec archive, and copy this file "camcodec.dll" to this location: c:\Windows\SysWOW64 OR C:\Windows\System32 for 32-bit users You will need administrator rights (Windows will prompt you). 3. Start or restart Camstudio, or any other video program, and check if codec is visible now. If it is not sufficient, you can try to make some registry changes: Create a pure text file, using Notepad. Paste this text: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\drivers.desc] "camcodec.dll"="CamStudio lossless codec [CSCD]" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32] "VIDC.CSCD"="camcodec.dll" Then open (run) the file. Fix 'Record audio from speakers' in CamStudio on Windows Vista
Hi in this video I show you how to fix the 'Record audio from speakers' error on CamStudio for Windows Vista. This is the 8th time trying to record the video and 2nd time uploading -.- [ Once you've done the steps you will keep getting the error message, ignore it it should work now ] 1) On your taskbar right click the Audio/Volume/Speakers icon and select Recording Devices 2) Make sure you're on the recording tab 3) Right click and make sure both are enabled with a tick, if not click both to enable. 4) Right click on Stereo Mix and click Enable 5) On CamStudio go to Options - Audio Options - Audio options for speakers 6) For soundcard device select Stereo Mix You should now be able to record audio from your speakers using CamStudio. CamStudio Optimization & Tweaks (Lossless Codec, Record All Sounds, File Conversion)
camstudio.org www.any-video-converter.com Explaining how to setup Camstudio with the lossless codec, get decent recordings without huge AVI file sizes, get all sounds playing on comp to record instead of just mic, and to convert Camstudio's special lossless AVI's to something that Windows Movie Maker can recognize without blanking out the video (using Any Video Converter to convert/compress formats). Various other folks on Youtube have posted similiar vids, but I wanted to consolidate all the steps into 1 vid for convenience (in case I forget in the future...LOL!) I've fiddled with Any Video Converter, and it seems the mp4 video format does a decent job of compressing with little quality loss. You may want to experiment to see what works best for you. SIDE NOTE ... I've since given up on CamStudio, b/c it would randomly crash on compiling a video saying "can't merge audio" or some-such. Lost some good vids from that, and gave up. Plus, the crappy audio in this video is due to the lossless codec. I've since moved on to using HyperCam v2, which is free. Teaming HyperCam w/Xvid codec, you can record decent videos for small size, then use Any Video Converter to compress the AVI to a WMV or MP4/MPG.

Ever had to show your friends something on your computer and you don't know how? Now you can, using screen capture software called CamStudio. It's an open source program, meaning it's free to the public. I will show you my settings in this video and also how to use the recorder itself. Zant Surfs the Web (CamStudio test 1)
No pony-related videos for a while guys. I promise. I downloaded CamStudio for an upcoming video project, and I wanted to test how well it could follow the mouse's movements and how smoothly it could show me browsing random websites. I decided to run some test recordings using my Zant and Navi voices, and this is the resulting footage. It made for a neat little voice acting exercise, so I figured I'd share it with you guys. If you actually want to see more "surfs the web" vids, please let me know, and I can try different characters with different websites. I might even end up scripting them next time...unless of course you'd prefer I stick with improv.
