i have made an "electronic" 8bit calculator (not "mechanical" calculator) with the Beta demo of "Little big planet" (a new PS3 game with an editor for create). it do decimal/binary conversions and it can do Add and Sub. There are probably more simple solutions for calculator machine but i was more interested by this "electronic" solution for the fun computation take clearly less that a half second this calculator use: - 610 magnetic switches - 500 Wires - 430 pistons - 70 emitters and others stuff... I have made this machine only with the Beta demo, one month before the commercial release of the game (look the date of the video) in approximately one week. Minecraft Scientific/Graphing calculator - Sin Cos Tan Log Square root
Hello there! (Reddit name: MaxSGB) Here is the project I've been working on ^.^ Specs: 6 digit addition and subtraction, 3 digit multiplication, division and trigonometric/scientific functions. (The reason these are only 3 digits is because multiplication and division would take a long time to decode/complete/encode. Also, the fraction display is hard enough to build for 3 digits, let alone 6 - 6 digit RAM would not only be massive, but a bit pointless since the curves follow the same pattern surrounding the peaks.). Graphing y=mx+c functions, quadratic functions, and equation solving of the form mx+c=0. The screen and keypad were always meant to be the main feature of this machine. The main display boasts 25 digits. Square root signs are displayed and can change to accommodate any number of digits. Square root signs, add, minus, multiply and divide signs are displayed at appropriate times, and there is a full fraction display. The 7-segments for the fractions are the smallest possible, being only 3 wide, and stackable vertically and horizontally. I made a custom texture pack for the keypad, and made wooden pressure plates invisible in order to get the best effect. The calculator itself is just over 250x200x100 blocks. It contains 2 6-digit BCD number selectors, 2 BCD-to-binary decoders, 3 binary-to-BCD decoders, 6 BCD adders and subtractors, a 20 bit (output) multiplier, 10 bit divider, a memory bank and additional circuitry for the graphing function. After seeing clones of Doom arriving on calculators a few years ago, the real game is finally arriving on them, specifically the TI-Nspire and TI-Nspire CAS models! It's still in beta, though: As for now, the game runs for 20-60 seconds then freezes randomly. Some animated GIF captures can be found on the site. They look much clearer than in the video, but the framerate is much slower.

My DIY Calculator Game (NO Computer needed)
I show you the calculator game I made on my own while I was board in class. You make it all from the calculator with no computer needed at all. You can make your own also. If enough people would like the lines of code for the basic "engine" if you will, I'll be more than happy to put those in the more info section. Making calculator games does require some that you know your way around the calculator first. You don't need to know everyhting, just some basic programming knowledge. You could probably read through the manual that came with the calc and be well off enough to program games yourself. I haven't seen any videos about making your own games from the calc on YouTube yet, but if any of you guys have your own then feel free to leave a reply video showing me your basic layout. I also wanted to note that the better the calculator you have, the faster it can do calculations, and the faster and smoother the game will run. I have the lowest end calc but with a Ti-84 or anything like it, the game would run a lot better than on mine. I've added the lines of code for the engine I came up with. Feel free to try it out, alter it, impress your friends, or make a game yourself. Just be sure to come back here and show what you came up with, maybe even leave a tip for others.

Stephen's Minecraft Redstone Calculator Tutorial
In this video, I show you how to build your very own redstone calculator that can add ANY size number you want. A calculator is made up of Full-adders which add 2 1-bit numbers with a 1-bit carry in. The carry in is a special number I'll talk about more below. The outputs of the circuit are the "sum" and the "carry out". The sum is the smaller number of the two and extends out front in my design. The carry out is where numbers go that can't fit in the sum. Binary numbers are just like decimal numbers, but they take more digits to express numbers in. You read them from right to left where smaller digits are on the right. Here is a brief list of binary numbers: 000 = 0 001 = 1 010 = 2 011 = 3 100 = 4 101 = 5 110 = 6 111 = 7 As you can see, the right-most digit is worth 1, the middle worth 2, and the left-most worth 4. You keep doubling the value for every digit you add on. Keep in mind that this calculator uses a reverse-order answer, so you have to view it from the opposite side in order to use the above notation.
