We hopped on our scooter, pulled out our camera, and made a video of riding around Bucheon. Get a look at what the streets of Bucheon are like, malls and cars and roads and all. Woot!
Bucheon's Sang Dong Market
We're happy that we found this place, because this is what we kind of expected Korea to be like before we got here: marketplaces with bad lighting and fresh produce, fresh fish, and meat cut right in front of you, vendors yelling for your attention, and random sock stores that don't seem to fit in with the rest of the place. Instead, we're surrounded by shopping malls and megamarts - in our part of Bucheon, at least - so we like to make it down to Bucheon's Sang Dong Market every once in a while. They quite possibly make our favorite Man Du (dumplings) and Don Kat Su (shnitzel) in our entire stay in Korea - and, believe us when we say we have eaten LOTS of Man Du and Don Kat Su. We highly recommend you stop by here as well, if not as a regular customer, then at least to see a different side of Korea.
Rhythm and Booze: Best Foreigner bar in Bucheon, Korea
We want to advertise this place as best we can. We love it here, and strongly recommend that everyone else go there as well. It's a new place, and the atmosphere is great, and the food is awesome, and the view is fantastic, and and and and it's just really, really good.

We were walking through the streets of Bucheon and saw huge pictures of Angelina Jolie at a tiny, unknown bar. We also saw another bar called the Kenny G bar, but we doubt Kenny G was there, either. So here's a bunch of Korean storefronts that are odd, either through bogus celebrity endorsement or just odd phrasing.

Weekends on Bucheon's Streets
Behind City Hall every weekend the streets are blocked off for this event; you can rent small motorcars and zip around the streets. It's meant to be for kids, but we partake in it anyway

Bucheon, Korea's Bus Stops
We finally know what these mean! Beside most of the stops we've seen in Bucheon we have found these signs, which tell you just how many stops the bus is away from you. Also, these are supposedly native to Bucheon, and Seoul is just beginning to adopt them - from what I've been told.
Rhythm and Booze's Battle for Bucheon
For the next five Saturdays, Rhythm and Booze will host the Battle for Bucheon. Bands will compete against each other to make it to the final bracket, where they will finally battle it out for 1500000 won. And WE ARE GOING TO BE THE CELEBRITY JUDGES! 우리시소개부천시 - Bucheon City Korea, Bucheon is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It is sandwiched between Incheon and Seoul. Manufacturing operations are located in the city. Bucheon promotes itself as the cultural centre of Seoul Metropolitan Area. The Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra is located there along with Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival. Bucheon's institutions of higher education include: Bucheon College, Yuhan College, Catholic University of Korea Bucheon campus, and Seoul Theological University. Bucheon FC 1995 was founded in 2007. It is a member of the Challengers League in Korea. Their homeground is Bucheon stadium (부천 종합 운동장). There are a number of martial arts private schools in Bucheon, inlcuding hapkido, taekwondo and kumdo. One taekwondo gym (태권도장) is Jung Ang (중앙) Taekwondo that is near Jung Ang Park (중앙공원) and the City Hall. The fee is 90000 Won a month for adults. There are a number of markets in Bucheon, including the traditional market that runs along the south side of Bucheon Station. Bucheon Station has an underground market, as well as E-Mart with a small Kyobo Book store on the top floor. In the Jung Dong area there is a Lotte Department store with a HomePlus store opposite. Sang Dong has a number of shopping places including Hyundai Department Store, Emart, and the Mall. The Mall has a CGV Cinema. At the main bus terminal, there is Newcore and Kim's Club. Bike Ride through Jungang Park, Bucheon, Korea
We strapped a camera to our bikes and rode through the park. It's a really nice park and it's right beside our apartment.
Seoul Metro Line 1 - Bucheon Station
I got to ride in a rare-find train with an old line 1 paint job, red and cream. Most trains, even the same ones seen in the video, have been painted in the new colour scheme using red, blue and silver. Back in the days, the cars would have had cushion seats as opposed to metal, slide-down shades attached to windows, as well as overhead rotating fans in place of air conditioners.

BICOF 2010 Highlights (Sep 15-19) Bucheon, Korea
Here are some of the highlights from the 13th Bucheon International Comics Festival (BICOF) and 11th International Comic Artists Conference (ICC) held in Bucheon, Korea from Sept. 15 to 19, 2010. The event gathered together talented comic artists from all over Asia and Europe and was organized by the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency (KOMACON). I am honored to have been invited to represent the Philippines at the BICOF event in South Korea for the 2nd time (the first time was in 2005). Check out the video to get a glimpse of the festival. Featured in this video are: Legendary Korean comic creator Park Jae Dong and his folk band "Bandy", BICOF special guest Marvel talent scout CB Cebulski, and artist delegates including my wife and myself.
