The Battle of Britpop (Oasis vs Blur) 1995
french television The Battle of Britpop is the unofficial title given to the 1995 singles chart battle between two popular Britpop groups, Blur and Oasis. The two bands had had a long-running feud with each side expressing their hatred for the other. On one occasion Noel Gallagher of Oasis said he wished that Damon Albarn and Alex James of Blur would "catch AIDS and die" (he later apologized for his comments). The feud between the two bands came into the mainstream in 1995 when Blur decided to release their single "Country House" a week early to coincide with Oasis's single "Roll With It". In the end, Blur won the battle by 58000 sales: "Country House" sold 274000 copies to 216000 copies sold of "Roll with It". Blur and Oasis have distanced themselves as much as possible from this event, as Oasis say they considered it over-hyped nonsense that they never really took seriously and accused Damon Albarn of merely trying to promote Blur by over-hyping the situation. Damon Albarn has also expressed regret of this incident.

Elegy for Britpop albums destined never to be rereleased as Deluxe Remastered Editions
Words by backwards7. Read by Steve Lamacq. This came about after Word reader backwards7 contributed the elegy to the Word blog at wordtr.im . We decided it should be voiced, and who better to do so than the King of Britpop himself, Steve Lamacq? Steve kindly obliged, we added some Mahler, and clumsily put together a slideshow. The rest, as The Verve so rightly said, is History.
Oasis' Best (2000-2009) the post brit-pop era
*no copyright infringement intended as it clearly states in the title, this is a little taste of what Oasis has been and what they have done during this decade. i know there will be people who don't agree with the choices i made(as far as the songs i included) but hey, it's my opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs. just for the record, i didn't include the following tracks not because i didn't think much of them but because i couldn't find them on my music library: Go Let it Out Born on a Different Cloud Please leave comments, rate and favorite !

Razorlight Golden Touch + Lyrics
know a girl with the golden touch She's got enough, she's got too much But I know, you wouldn't mind You could have it all if you wanted You could have it all if it mattered so much But then all they know is how to put you down When you're there, they're your friend But then when you're not around They say, "Oh, she's changed" We know what they mean Well they mean, they're just jealous Because they never do the things That they wish that they could do so well That kind of girl, yes she's never alone You leave a thousand messages on her phone But you know you never get through And you could have it all if you wanted, girl You could have it all if it matters to you But then all they know is how to put you down When you're there, they're your friend But then when you're not around They say, "Oh, she's changed" Oh we know what that means Well it means they're just jealous But they'll never do the things That they wish that they could do so well I saw my girl with the golden touch Give me a taste but not too much I never listen to the words of fools Well, well, hey, you You won't get it that way But don't ask for too much You're gonna need your golden touch Because all they know is how to put you down When you're there, they're your friend And then when you're not around They say, "Oh, she's changed" And we know what that means Well it means they're just jealous But they'll never do the things That they wish that they could do so well

Lush - Ladykillers
This one was directed by Mark Pellington. And for those who are not familiar with Lush, they used to do some sort of gaze and dreampop -not as good as their contemporaries- but with "Lovelife" they departed from that style and then came their career end as a band. Anyway, this is one of my fave tunes when I was young and it still makes me headbang and rock. Enjoy it, cheers!
Live Forever: The Rise and Fall of Brit Pop (Complete Documentary) 1 Hour 19 Minutes
Live Forever : The Rise and Fall of Brit Pop Live Forever: The Rise and Fall of Brit Pop is a 2003 documentary film written and directed by John Dower. The documentary is a study of popular culture in the United Kingdom during the mid to late 1990s. The focus of the piece is British popular music (Britpop), which underwent a resurgence during the mid-1990s and then seemingly retreated with similar haste towards the end of that decade. The political landscape of the time also features. Much is made of Tony Blair and New Labour's efforts to align themselves with the distinctly British cultural resurgence that was underway. The documentary features a number of prominent UK musical and artistic figures, but relies heavily on contributions from Noel & Liam Gallagher of Oasis, Damon Albarn of Blur and Jarvis Cocker of Pulp. Other contributors include 3D from Massive Attack, Louise Wener from Sleeper, fashion designer Ozwald Boateng and modern artist Damien Hirst.

Graham Coxon discusses his signature Telecaster®
Graham Coxon emerged from the 1990s Britpop movement as one of the UK's most acclaimed and distinctive modern guitarists. Through his hit-filled career with Blur and a highly renowned solo career, his sonic paintbrush of choice is most often a Telecaster guitar, and Fender now honors him with the European-only release of the signature Graham Coxon Telecaster guitar. Coxon is well known as one of modern rock's most avid aficionados of the Telecaster—"The first guitar I reach for," he said, and "One of the guitars I used to draw when I was at school and dream of having." Now he has one with his own name on it. The Graham Coxon Telecaster has a distinctive combination of a Blonde finish ash body, tortoiseshell pickguard, vintage-style single-coil Telecaster bridge pickup and Seymour Duncan® '59 SH-1 humbucking neck pickup with a black bezel for tone ranging from clear and sharp to warm and round. Other features include a C-shaped maple neck with gloss urethane finish, rosewood fingerboard with 9.5" radius and 21 medium jumbo frets, three-position switch with "top hat" tip, knurled chrome knobs on 375k volume and tone pots that contribute to brighter sound from both pickups, vintage-style Telecaster bridge with three threaded steel saddles, chrome hardware, vintage-style tuners, '70s-style headstock decal and Coxon's signature on the back of the headstock.
