EF Bristol, England - UK
Order a free EF brochure: www.ef.com Bristol has been one of the most important cities in England for nearly a thousand years. But the gorgeous medieval city has morphed into one of the hippest university cities in the UK With one million people in the area, Bristol is a great centre for culture and learning. It's home to art, fashion, creative media and an ultra hip music scene. In the centre of the city is the beautiful Queen Square from 1699. The Northern side of the square is dominated by the historic Custom House. Today this well-known heritage building is home to a very modern language centre: EF Bristol. The EF school building was designed by Sydney Smirke, the same architect who created the Royal Academy in London. Modern day architects have given the EF centre a contemporary look inside.

Bristol Stokes Croft Riot HD (21/04/11)
Police barricaded Cheltenham Road in Stokes Croft on the evening of 21/04/11. News reports say that police entered a squatted building opposite a newly built Tesco Express store on suspicion that there were petrol bombs on the premises. Here's some of what happened later on that night... Below I'll answer some of the questions coming up in the comments: 0.30 - The man was laughing at the fact people had arrived in balaclavas and with home-made shields, not in support of their actions. 0.50 - The trailer being pushed over was a police trailer containing riot shields. 0.57 - The man is blurred because he was the only recognisible face in the video. 3.30 - The woman shouting 'pacifism, stop being agressive' was directing it at the people throwing bottles at the police. - Also the video says it was uploaded on the 21st April, despite showing footage shot on the 22nd, this is because it was registered by youtube under PST (pacific standard time) NB. Please be respectful to others, any hate speech will be removed.

This is See No Evil, the UK's largest street art project. 72 artists including some of the biggest names in graffiti in the world descended on Nelson Street in Bristol, painting masterpieces through the night to create a permanent cultural legacy for the city. Dozens of buildings, a bridge, 6 mega cranes, 326 metres of street, 26 scaffold towers, 325 litres of emulsion, 13400 cans of paint and thousands of happy visitors See it through the artist's eyes and get a sneaky peek at some amazing pieces of art. Organised by Inkie, Team Love and Weapon of Choice with the support of Bristol City Council and Nelson Street's building owners, we celebrated the project with an NYC style block party and three 'Hear No Evil' events in the incredible disused Westgate building. Recorded over a week and edited in just 8 hours, special thanks go to Hurricane Media for this video. Take a look and then come on down and see it for real...
Bristol In The 1920s
Very rare moving pictures of Bristol (UK) filmed 80 years ago. A world in which old cars, buses, lorries and motorcycles share the roads with trams and a surprising number of horses and carts. A charabanc and even a hand-pulled cart are glimpsed. Policemen direct traffic, women exhibit the 'flapper' look, men wear hats or caps. Clips feature The Centre, Corn Street, Bristol Bridge, Park Street, The Docks, Bedminster Bridge, Redcliff Hill, and Ashton Swing Bridge.

Bristol Palin Fights at Saddle Ranch | Original Full Video
Subscribe our Show www.youtube.com Bristol Palin, Sarah Palin's daughter, was enjoying her time at West Hollywood's popular Saddle Ranch restaurant and saloon with her friends and film crew of her new reality show. Bristol got on the mechanical bull and rode it, but as she fell off, an apparently inebriated dude from the bar started shouting things to her such as "Your mother is a whore!" "Did you ride Levi like that?" and "Your mother is af***ing devil." Well, Bristol was not happy and wasn't having any of that, especially in front of her film crew. She quickly walked over and confronted the man, asking him if he was homosexual -- and at one point, apparently even taunting him - and both began shouting and arguing. Saddle Ranch management tried to break it up but Bristol and the dude kept going at it till the film crew took Bristol away! Follow Hollywood.TV on Facebook @ www.facebook.com
Bristol Hercules
A successful demonstration of a Bristol Hercules sleeve valve engine (39 litres displacement) recorded for your pleasure. This engine and propeller were bought in England and brought to Sweden to be prepared for ground-running, a job that took these two enthusiasts two years to complete. During this run the fuel consumption averaged at 3 litres/minute and as a special treat for the crowd the Rolls-Royce Meteor made an appearance that day and is included in this video as well. Enjoy!
Rioters throw bottles in Bristol, 8/9th of August 2011.
Small group of rioters just outside my flat in Bristol by Portland Square, throwing bottles at riot police. Short clip, I just caught them as they started throwing things.
Bristol Hercules demonstration
Another demonstration of the very same Bristol Hercules engine as seen before on this channel. This was shot at the Borås airshow in Sweden this summer to the enthusiastic crowd's delight. Sort of an abrubt ending to the clip but nevertheless the sound is even better than in the previous clips so turn it up and enjoy!

The Dovells - "Bristol Stomp" (1961)
The Dovells were an American music group, formed at Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1957, under the name 'The Brooktones'. The members were Arnie Silver, Mark Gordesky, Len Borisoff, Jerry Gross, Mike Freda and Jim Mealey. Their first single was "No, No, No", which was a minor local hit for The Brooktones, who soon broke up. Summers and Dennis left the group, forming The Gems with Mark Stevens and Alan Horowitz in 1960; while the remaining Brooktones signed to the Chancellor record label and added Jerry Serlen and William Shunkwiler to the group, while changing the name to The Dovells. Their first hit was "Bristol Stomp", a dance song followed by the similar hit "Do the New Continental". "Bristol Stomp" sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. They appeared performing both songs in the Chubby Checker movie Don't Knock The Twist in 1961. They released a series of singles over the next few years. These included "You Can't Sit Down", a #3 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963. Len Borisoff left in 1965 for a solo career under the name Len Barry. The high point of his solo career was "1-2-3" in 1965. The Dovells continued as a trio, and recorded as The Magistrates for MGM in 1968. Artist - The Dovells Song - Bristol Stomp (Lyrics) The kids in Bristol are sharp as a pistol When they do the Bristol Stomp Really somethin when they join in jumpin When they do the Bristol Stomp Whoa, whoa they start spinnin every Friday night They dance the ...

Bristol Hercules 14 Cylinder Sleeve Valve Radial
Bristol Hercules 14 Cylinder Sleeve Valve Radial Engine Run In 1986 the Bristol Freighter ZK-CPT ('Merchant Courier') was flown into Omaka Aerodrome (Blenheim, New Zealand) and retired. The aircraft engines were subsequently run on several occasions, but this has not occurred for over 20 years. Enter Alastair Marshall - ex RNZAF Engine Technician, now commercial pilot, and a piston engine enthusiast. Over the past few months, Al has been working on the two Bristol Hercules engines on the aircraft, with the goal of getting the old girl to come to life once more. On 13th June 2008, Stage 1 of the project was completed - the port engine was successfully run for the first time in over two decades. Well, done that man! We look forward to Stages Two (starboard engine run) and Three (a full aircraft taxi) soon! Bristol Boxkite
www.shuttleworth.org In 1910 the British and Colonial Aeroplane Company at Bristol imported a Voisin designed Zodiac biplane from France with the intention of building similar aircraft under licence in England. Although superbly finished the aeroplane was never flown successfully and plans to build the design were abandoned in favour of a greatly improved version which had been developed by Henri Farman, an Englishman living in France. The new Bristol machine was an unashamed copy of the Farman but rather better built so that when the Farman companys solicitors threatened to sue a defence claiming substantial improvements ensured that no court proceedings took place. Following trials with alternative power plants, the 50 hp Gnôme rotary engine was adopted and the aircraft flew successfully from Larkhill in July 1910. The Bristol biplane soon gained the soubriquet Boxkite and equipped the newly formed flying schools at Brooklands and Larkhill. Later, in December 1910, four were shipped in pairs on air missions to India and Australia . However, the first order from overseas was placed by the Russian Government for eight Boxkites and they were delivered to St Petersburg in April 1911. These aircraft, military versions, had extended upper wings, three rudders, enlarged fuel tanks and more powerful 70 hp Gnôme rotary engines. The Boxkite was issued to the Royal Naval Air Service in March 1911 and to the Larkhill based Army Air Battalion the following April. Some seventy-six ...

Real Scenes: Bristol
The eyes of the world have turned to the UK in recent years and have found some of the most exciting, genre-defying young artists to emerge from electronic music. But while London's scene can be fractious and hard to pin down, there seems to be something in the air in Bristol that unites its participants. Whether they're creating dubstep, house, techno or something else entirely, the cross-pollination in Bristol is unique. In RA's first official entry into video, we journey to Bristol to explore how the city has flourished in recent years, discovering why this small metropolis is one of the most influential electronic music outposts in the world today. Arsenal 2-0 Bristol Academy - Women's FA Cup Final Official Highlights - 21-05-11
The FA Women's Cup sponsored E.ON Gunners reclaim Women's Cup By Glenn Lavery at Ricoh Arena - Saturday, 21 May, 2011 Kim Little and Julie Fleeting score the goals to down Bristol. Arsenal put behind them the pain of last season's FA Women's Cup sponsored by E.ON Final defeat by reclaiming the trophy they have made their own in recent years at the expense of Bristol Academy. Twelve months ago Everton recorded an extra-time victory over the Gunners at The City Ground, ending a run of four consecutive Final victories for Arsenal, but the north Londoners bounced back in style, outplaying first-time Finalists Bristol en route to collecting their eleventh Women's Cup crown. Talented Scottish midfielder Kim Little fired Arsenal ahead on 19 minutes with a goal which went some way to justifying her increasing reputation in the game before her compatriot Julie Fleeting headed the second, and final, goal just after the half-hour mark. A beautiful May day and an immaculate playing surface welcomed the two teams at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena, and, keen to make an impression in their maiden Final, Bristol started brightly, forcing an early corner which Anouk Hoogendijk headed wide. Mark Sampson's side hassled and harried the perennial Cup winners in the early exchanges, forcing the Gunners backline into one or two shaky clearances, but, almost inevitably Arsenal grew into the game and forced the West Country side onto the back foot. Ellen White, operating on the right of a front ...
