Vote BP for Greenwash Gold 2012
Vote BP for Greenwash Gold 2012: www.greenwashgold.org BP's brand is all over the Olympics. Incredibly, it has landed the prestigious title of 'Sustainability Partner'. It is bankrolling educational and cultural initiatives, providing fuel for the Games, and sponsoring many athletes. The Olympics are the perfect vehicle for BP to try to convince the public that it is a good corporate citizen, playing an important social and environmental role. But BP is one of the most unsustainable companies on the planet. It is entirely focused on extracting every last fossil fuel it can get its hands on, including tar sands, the most destructive industrial project on the planet. If the Canadian tar sands are fully exploited as planned, they will contribute more than 10% of all the carbon emissions that humanity can afford to emit, ever, if we are to prevent runaway climate change. Extracting oil from tar sands also destroys swathes of boreal forest, uses huge amounts of fresh water, and causes soaring rates of illness in local communities. And despite the Deepwater Horizon disaster having permanently destroyed large portions of the Gulf Coast, BP is proudly restarting its deepwater drilling. It is also exploring the Arctic, where the volatile conditions make a Gulf-like spill both more likely to happen and much harder to control -- and such a disaster would cause unprecedented damage to the fragile ecoystem. Oh, and BP recently closed down its solar division, giving up on this ...

Gulf Oil Spill: BP Execs Escape Punishment as Disaster Continues To Impact Sea life. 1 of 2
DemocracyNow.org - Two years since the worst offshore oil spill in US history, we look at its impact on the Gulf of Mexico's residents and wildlife even as no BP officials have faced criminal prosecution for the disaster. Eleven workers died when the Deepwater Horizon well exploded and almost five million barrels of crude oil leaked into the ocean before the well was plugged after 51 days. BP maintains the Gulf is rapidly recovering thanks to the company's efforts, but Al Jazeera reporter Dahr Jamail describes how scientists say shrimp, fish and crabs in the Gulf of Mexico have been deformed by oil and chemicals released during the spill clean-up effort. Meanwhile, ProPublica's environmental reporter Abrahm Lustgarten says the company failed to learn from past mistakes that could have helped avoid the explosion. He is the author of the new book, "Run to Failure: BP and the Making of the Deepwater Horizon Disaster." Gulf of Despair - USA
Toxic legacy of BP disaster lives on To see more go to www.youtube.com Follow us on Facebook (goo.gl or Twitter (www.twitter.com Two years after the Gulf of Mexico disaster BP say the area is back in business. But in reality oil is washing up on the beaches, local residents are falling ill and the peak of the crisis is yet to come. "We are glad to report all beaches and waters are open", states BP in a new advertising campaign. For the oil company business can resume as normal, but for the communities whose livelihoods rely upon the waters around the Gulf of Mexico business could not be worse: "there are no oysters growing so our future is very uncertain". Moreover, many locals who volunteered during the clear up are now suffering potentially fatal health problems caused by toxins in the chemical BP used to disperse the oil, Corexit 9527. "They are having breathing problems, headaches, breaking out in rashes, asthma...", explains a community worker, Glenda Perryman. And there could still be a wider threat to human health; strong evidence suggests the oil has got into the food chain. "We're finding it in larger quantities over a one-year period after the spill, so it's bio-accumulating. It's going to impact on generations to come", says Wilma Subra, an environmental scientist. As with the Exxon Valdez disaster in Alaska, it will take a few more years before the real impact of this spill is felt. For those in the locality, that may be too late: "I don't know if I am living ...

Will BP Oil Spill victims pay tax on settlement? Robert Wood
The news release that BP reached a $7.8 billion settlement over its Deepwater Horizon oil spill could mean cash for many victims soon. It's good news for BP too, although BP must still deal with probable government fines. See BP Spill Saga Far From Over. BP can deduct compensation paid to victims but may have a hard time deducting government fines.

The MSM has done their job successfully silencing the real news and as of August 10, 2011 you would never know that there is still an ongoing disaster being played out in the United States as there is still oil, dead sea creatures, petroleum covered birds and other contaminants washing up on the beaches surrounding the Gulf of Mexico as a result of the BP oil spill disaster. BP's HOLE In The Bottom of the Gulf - BP's REAL Gulf LEAK - October 2011
The video you DIDN'T see on the 6 o'clock news broadcast of the BP Oil Spill Disaster in the Gulf. BP only showed you the "logical" video of the wellhead leak so that the world could watch as they attempted to "cap" it off. That's because if they had shown you the REAL leak, and the subsequent damage to the sea floor as a result of the explosion that left a huge crater and a leaking deep sea riser spewing, the odds of them being able to repair the damage would be known. That damage still exists today, and it the root cause of the documented sightings of oil seen in the Gulf near the BP Macondo well site since spring of 2011, which BP is always careful to state it's not the "well" that's leaking. It's not. It's the riser deep below the ocean floor, and the subsequent damage to the sea floor that continues to cause shifts in the plates and resultant earthquakes since April of 2010 in various parts of the Gulf states and the southern US. The demand for real answers and the truth continues.
BP Oil Spill Victims Sickened and Dying, Local Physicians Clueless
Lisa Nelson of Orange Beach, AL is one of a growing number of people sickened and dying as a result of the BP disaster. Local physicians have no idea how to diagnose or treat patients who have bee exposed to highly toxic crude/dispersant combination. Local, State, and federal agencies continue to cover-up and offer zero assistance. Very sad; Lisa Nelson passed away today 3.7.11. She was an inspration to all who were fortunate enough to know her and will be dearly missed. God bless her beautiful soul.
BP Parody: Press Conference Ends Awkwardly
BP Parody/Satire: British Petroleum's CEO Tony Hayward defends BP's role in "tiny leak" in Gulf of Mexico, according to this exclusive coverage of a press briefing by BP Spokesperson Kevin Nalts. Hayward, who remains CEO as of this evening's press conference, is faring well despite the impact on him emotionally and financially. However BP is taking full responsibility for the event, despite the fact that petroleum is a natural element that might likely leak into the ocean under other circumstances. For more, see this account (not mine) www.twitter.com ** Note: No permission required to use clip. Public domain & satire/parody. Original script (cut and wandered from it yesterday): I'm Kevin Nalts, BP Spokesperson. I'd like to make a brief statement on behalf of BP CEO Tony Hayward. These statements will be documented through wall posts we upload on our Twitter account: BPGlobalPR. For those of you new to "Bitty Spill" (also called "Deepwater Horizon" by those not employed by BP)... a tiny amount of natural liquid petroleum found naturally on planet Earth is leaking into the Gulf of Mexico. We at BP accept full accountability for this unfortunate situation because we happen to be drilling near the location... we wish not to blame the planet, the government's lack of oversight, or the good people of New Orleans who GOD knows have already faced enough I'm sure we'd agree. We don't even blame Halliburton, who built the well casing, or Transocean who owns it... with BP just ...
