Taylor Guitars Responds to "United Breaks Guitars"
Bob Taylor lends his support to Dave Carroll and guitar players everywhere. Taylor has had an artist relationship with Dave for several years now. In 2006, our owners magazine, Wood&Steel, reviewed Daves CD, Sunday Morning. As weve had an ongoing relationship, we have made the offer to replace and/or further repair his damaged 710ce. As a Taylor artist, weve offered Dave our support, a choice of a new guitar and to re-repair the damaged 710ce. Dave and his bandmate Julian made the trip to the Taylor factory in July and have met many of our staff. Well also be running a story on Daves experiences in the fall issue of Wood&Steel.

Bob Taylor DVD preview BOB TAYLOR: AMERICAN LUTHIER LIMITED EDITION - EXTENDED VERSION Bob Taylor is an American luthier who has pioneered or helped develop many of the newer technological innovations used in acoustic guitar production today. His Taylor acoustic guitars are very popular among professional musicians, and are used by Leo Kottke, Dan Crary, Jason Mraz, Prince, Dave Matthews and Steve Cook (of the country band Alabama), among others. Bob built his first guitar, a 12 string dreadnought, his junior year in high school. He was so pleased with the results that he built two more guitars during his senior year. After graduating high school, he went to work at American Dream guitars in San Diego, in September of 1973. While working at American Dream guitars, Bob invented what is probably his biggest contribution to the acoustic guitar — the bolt-on neck. His first bolt-on neck was a conversion (from a dovetail neck joint) of a Guild G-37. Now, all Taylor guitars use bolt-on necks, which allow much easier repair of neck-joint-related problems. After several years, Bob Taylor and two friends from American Dream (Kurt Listug and Steve Schemmer) bought the company from the former owner, Sam Radding. They named it Westland Music Company; eventually to become Taylor Guitars. Taylor Guitars has since developed a guitar finish that uses ultraviolet lamps to dry in a few hours (versus weeks for traditional nitrocellulose lacquer finishes), and also was the first guitar ...

Bob Taylor - Just Like A Woman
A great Bob Dylan song taped on location in the spring of 1970 for a Toledo, Ohio, ABC affiliate. This and other cuts from that day were recorded directly to an early 2" format video tape in a small remote truck just outside the restaurant where The Johnny Ginger Show was taped for airing later that same day. I was normally part of the station crew, running sound for the show. It was my first job after college. They found out I could play, and being hungry for talent, taped my songs that morning and used them for a segment later in the week. Just months later I married the girl who is still sharing my life ... now 40 years together and still making music!
