Fools Day was available across the UK at independent music retailers participating in Record Store Day. 1000 7 inch vinyl copies were pressed. Blurs manager Chris Morrison has said it is important that the song was made available to fans legally. "To avoid fans having to illegally obtain an inferior copy of this track from pirate sites we have made it freely available through the bands website". Fools Day is available from www.blur.co.uk at midnight this evening, Saturday April 17, 2010. Recorded in London earlier this month, Fools Day is the first song 4 members of Blur have recorded together since Battery In Your Leg from the album Think Tank (2003).

Blur - Girls & Boys From the "Blur: Live At Hyde Park 2009" DVD. Released in January 2010 in the "No Distance Left To Run" two discs box, in every shop now. The energic concert features 26 songs performed live by Blur, including with Graham Coxon. Voted as best live performance in an age by many critics, it's really worth the money. The dvd can also be found on the official Blur site. If you are only interested in the audio, Parlophone released "All The People: Blur Live at Hyde Park" cd out in every music store.

"Beetlebum" is a song by English band Blur. It was released as the lead single for the band's eponymous fifth album, Blur. The single became Blur's second to reach the number one spot in the UK Singles Chart (after "Country House"). It is believed that the song is about heroin and the drug experiences that Damon Albarn had with his then girlfriend, Justine Frischmann of Elastica. Albarn has stated in an interview with MTV that the song describes a complicated emotion, sort of 'sleepy' and sort of 'sexy'. "Beetlebum" is very highly regarded by fans of Blur. A members' poll on blurtalk.com currently rates "Beetlebum" as Blur's best single, beating its nearest competitors "The Universal", "Coffee & TV" and "Popscene" by a considerable margin. The band also seems to consider the song one of their best. Even Blur's rival, Noel Gallagher has praised it, when on Zane Lowe's brown couch he described it as his favourite Blur song. It is the opening track on Blur and Blur: The Best of.

Blur's debut album Leisure (1991) incorporated the sounds of Madchester and shoegazing.
