Blu talks NoYork and New album with Exile
www.hardknock.tv Exclusive in-depth interview with Blu. Nick Huff Barili talked to Blu for over an hour and this is part 1 of that conversation. In this segment Blu gives Hard Knock TV insight into his new album and Major label debut, No York, which is going through its mixing stages right now and will be out this summer. Blu states "It's not a State, It's a state of mind, No York state of mind, it a West Coast album with no references to New York" Blu says he has enough songs to make it a triple album and that he is experimenting with a new sound with more of an electric hip hop feel, in the vain of his Johnson and Jonson project. Production for No York, includes Dibiase, Flying Lotus, Knxwledge, Sam I am, Exile, Madlib, Shafiq, Bilal, J*DaVeY and Sa-Ra. As far as MC collaborations on No York, Blu states that you can expect Edan, Donel Smokes, Double-O, Definite and Nola Darling. Blu says that there is another album with him and Exile that is complete and is a very personal album but kills the rumors that it's going to be called Below the Heavens 2. He also says that he has put producing on the side for a bit because he had a hunger to get back on the raps and pick up the pen again. BLU-109 2000lb "Bunker Buster" Bomb
The BLU-109/B is a hardened penetration bomb used by United States military aircraft. (BLU is an acronym for Bomb Live Unit.) It is intended to smash through concrete shelters and other hardened structures before exploding. The BLU-109/B has a steel casing about 1 inch (25.4 mm) thick, filled with 530 lb (240 kg) of Tritonal. It has a delayed-action fuse. The BLU-109 entered service in 1985. It is also used as the warhead of some marks of the GBU-15 electro-optically guided bomb, the GBU-27 Paveway III laser-guided bomb, and the AGM-130 rocket-boosted weapon. This weapon supposedly has the same penetration as the Small Diameter Bomb, although it is not likely to be retired anytime soon, due to the much larger blast capable from its warhead.

www.hardknock.tv Exclusive in-depth interview with Blu. Nick Huff Barili talked to Blu for over an hour and this is part 2 of that conversation. In this segment Blu tells Hard Knock the story of when he first heard Common's I used to Love HER and how that influenced him to want to be an MC. "From then on my brain hasn't been the same". Canibus, Common, Chino XL, Redman.... Black Thought then Pharoahe Monch, Andre...I slept on Andre 3000". Blu goes on to talk about how he linked up with The Roots to work on two songs for their album How I Got Over and what it was like to be in the booth with Black Thought, whom he used to listen to in high school. Blu confirmed the rumors that he thought about signing to Death Row at one point and told us the story of how he rapper 100 bars in front of Suge Knight and a bunch of his homies. Blu says that it's dope to reflect on his Freshmen XXL cover and how he feels a bond with the artist on it like Curren$y, Asher Roth, Cudi, Wale, BoB, Charles Hamilton. Blu concludes this segment by saying that there is some heat coming from LA rappers like Kendrick Lamar, Pac Div, UNI, Dom. "I think we got it right now." Look out for Dre and Detox.
