By 2020, the exhibit is expected to have reached its final construction phase, including at least a total of ten sections in a model area of over 2300 m2 (24757 sq ft). The next section covering an airport opened in May 2011. The exhibit includes 890 trains made up of over 11000 carriages, 300000 lights, 215000 trees, and 200000 human figurines. The creators are planning to work on models of Italy and France after the airport section is completed. Possible future additions include Africa, England, or a futuristic landscape.

December 20, 2011 -- The final video release for Professional Freestyle BMX rider Dane Searls sees him successfully ride the biggest dirt jumps in history, clearing distances up to 60 feet (18 metres) on a BMX. The Giants of Dirt Project began in 2010 when Dane Searls brought the idea to Unit Clothing, his sponsor. Over the next 12 months, together they built and tested the line of jumps in Boonah, (west of the Gold Coast, Queensland) on the farm of fellow Unit rider Freestyle Motocross Pro Matt Schubring. Sheer determination saw Dane push through many painful crashes and set backs, including the devastating Queensland floods of 2010. Dane finally completed his life long goal in November 2011, by riding and pulling tricks through the entire set of jumps. Giants of Dirt 3 is the realization of Dane's dream. A custom built drop in ramp was constructed and the final jump in the set of four jumps measures 60 feet (18 metres) from dirt take off to dirt landing. Two days after fulfilling his dream, Dane was involved in an accident and suffered critical head injuries, placing him in a coma for five days. Dane passed away on November 25, 2011 in hospital due to injuries sustained. His death sent shock waves through the BMX community and he will be long remembered as an amazingly kind person and as a professional athlete who pushed the boundaries of ...

I didn't even make a mistake here, it toppled all by itself when it was more than 96% completed, with just 439 dominoes missing :-( So 13043 were standing when it toppled, which makes this my new personal domino record, beating the old one by almost 4500 pieces! It's the first time I have toppled more than 10000 dominoes, and more than the 11111 that made the first world record in 1974. Probably frequently asked questions: - This took about 30 hours of actual work, spread over five weeks. - I AM FINE. First, it would be much worse if I had actually messed it up -- but it wasn't my fault, as you can see in the video. At the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar this week, Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang put on his largest "explosion event" of the last three years, utilizing microchip-controlled explosives to form incredible designs and patterns. The video we've embedded of the event is an impressive testament to how a volatile black powder explosion can be controlled and shaped by computer. Each set of explosions was calculated to paint a different picture. One series of explosions created black smoke clouds that looked like "drops of ink splattered across the sky." In another, 8300 shells embedded with computer microchips exploded in a pyramid shape over the desert.

Garrett McNamara rides what members belonging to his group claimed was the biggest wave ever successfully negotiated during a "tow-surfing" session. Nazare is a small fishing town 70 miles north of Lisbon, Portugal. The wave face measured about 90 feet, according to a news release announcing the feat. McNamara, a known big-wave surfing guy from Hawaii, was riding large waves with Andrew Cotton and Al Mennie when 3 huge waves appeared on the outside. Cotton utilized a personal watercraft to tow McNamara onto the massive shoulder of one of those rogue waves.
