US beggar's priceless gift
After a decade of living on the streets of the US state of Ohio, 53 year old Ted Williams will soon be living in luxury. An Ohio newspaper reporter saw Williams on the street and offered him some cash in exchange for a soundbyte of his baritone broadcast voice. Since it's debut on YouTube just two days ago, Williams' smooth voice has already reeled in nearly eight million viewers and numerous job offers. His whirlwind of opportunities include a radio contract worth $10000 and a job as an announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team, which offers a house along with his salary. Williams went to school to pursue his dreams as a broadcaster, but was left homeless for 10 years after drugs and alcohol pervaded his life. The overnigths star has been clean for two years now and is thankful for the second chance to live his dream in the studio. Al Jazeera's Hazem Sika reports.
Beggar Robot
The Beggar Robot has access to areas normally off-limits to beggars, such as shopping malls and community events, where the richer members of society more often frequent. The hypothesis is that this part of society is only able to show some sympathy towards the marginalized if they communicate from a safe distance and via a technological interface. The project tests and exploits the advantages of robotic interface by bringing the Beggar Robot to public spaces in different countries and adapting it to the local context and local language, to beg in the name of the poor.

A Beggar's Tale
In this video, one of my Age of Conan characters tell his life story. This is the only video I've done so far, and it was created using only Age of Conan, the Age of Conan Soundtrack, Fraps (Shareware), Audacity (Freeware) and Windows Movie Maker (free with Windows). It look a lot of hours to complete, and I must have made every rookie mistake there is. Subtitles can be enabled with the symbol at the lower right bottom of the screen.
