Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees dead at 62

We've lost some great artists so far in 2012. It's really sad that we had to lose another one such as Robin Gibb. You will be greatly missed. entertainmenthookup.com Robin Gibb, one of three brothers who made up the disco group the Bee Gees behind "Saturday Night Fever" and other now-iconic sounds from the 1970s, died on Sunday, according to a statement on his website. He was 62. Gibb "passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery," said the statement, which was attributed to his family. He died in England at 10 am (5:47 am ET), according to a post on his official Twitter feed. News of his death set off a torrent of reaction in social media. Musician Bryan Adams, for instance, lamented "another great singer dying too young" on Twitter, while fellow British band Duran Duran and current pop sensation Bruno Mars were among many who posted their condolences. "The Bee Gees were/are the gold standard when it comes to pop/r&b melody, harmony and vocal arrangement. Massive loss," wrote prolific pop songwriter Claude Kelly on his Twitter feed. Diagnosed with colon and liver cancer, Gibb had been in a coma as he battled pneumonia earlier this spring, representative Doug Wright said. Doctors believe that Gibb had a secondary tumor, Wright said April 14, confirming a news account in the UK newspaper The Sun. Gibb had emergency surgery in 2010 for a blocked bowel and then had more surgery for a twisted bowel, Wright confirmed. The only surviving member ...

*NOTE* Warner Music Group (WMG) is the exclusive owner of the following copyrighted content: Bee Gees "Run To Me" (1972) May 20, 2012 Bee Gees Singer Robin Gibb Dead at 62 from battle with cancer. Robin Gibb -- one-third of the Bee Gees, the pop group that stood at the forefront of the disco era with its "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack -- died Sunday after a long battle with cancer, according to a family spokesman. The singer-songwriter was 62. Although past reports said Gibb was battling liver cancer, for a long time Gibb did not acknowledge that publicly. More recently, a spokesman confirmed that cancer was at the root of Gibb's health problems. He had seemed to be making what he called a "spectacular" recovery from surgery to remove a growth from his colon. Then, in March, he was hospitalized for intestinal surgery. The Bee Gees --- Robin, Maurice and their older brother, Barry --- had a four-decade pop career that was a roller-coaster ride marked by huge successes, a devastating crash from popularity, and a couple rounds of reinvention. They began in Australia as young followers of the lush sounds of the Beatles in the 1960s, then flourished as champions of disco in the '70s, mixing those beats with their established three-part harmonies. A decade before 1977's "Saturday Night Fever," which cemented their reputation forever, they had a string of huge hits worldwide, some of which featured Robin's plaintive vocal style. I started a joke, which started the whole world crying, but I didn't see that the joke was on me, oh no. I started to cry, which started the whole world laughing, oh, if I'd only seen that the joke was on me. I looked at the skies, running my hands over my eyes, and I fell out of bed, hurting my head from things that I'd said. Til I finally died, which started the whole world living, oh, if I'd only seen that the joke was on me. I looked at the skies, running my hands over my eyes, and I fell out of bed, hurting my head from things that I'd said. "How Deep Is Your Love" I know your eyes in the morning sun I feel you touch me in the pouring rain And the moment that you wander far from me I wanna feel you in my arms again And you come to me on a summer breeze Keep me warm in your love, then you softly leave And it's me you need to show How deep is your love How deep is your love, how deep is your love I really mean to learn 'Cause we're living in a world of fools Breaking us down when they all should let us be We belong to you and me I believe in you You know the door to my very soul You're the light in my deepest, darkest hour You're my savior when I fall And you may not think, I care for you When you know down inside that I really do And it's me you need to show How deep is your love How deep is your love, how deep is your love I really mean to learn 'Cause we're living in a world of fools Breaking us down when they all should let us be We belong to you and me And you come to me on a summer breeze Keep me warm in your love, then you softly leave And it's me you need to show How deep is your love How deep is your love, how deep is your love I really mean to learn 'Cause we're living in a world of fools Breaking us down when they all should let us be We belong to you and me How deep is your love, how deep is your love I really mean to learn 'Cause we're living in a world of fools Breaking us down when they all should let us be We belong to you and me How deep is your love, how deep is your love I really mean to ...

Robin Gibb RIP - The Bee Gees - Massachusetts - Robin, Barry & Maurice - (Live on TOTP 1967)judep22

Robin Gibb, one of the three fantastically talented Gibb brothers who made up the Bee Gees, today passed away after a long battle with cancer aged just 62.. Robin, along with his brother Maurice, who died in 2003 and elder brother Barry together made up probably one of the most successful singer song-writer groups of all time. It has been estimated that the Bee Gees' career record sales total more than 220 million, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. His music will be greatly missed. The trio's pop-songwriting instincts and distinctive high harmonies led to many No. 1 hits over five decades. Asked in 2010 for his greatest achievement, Gibb told The Guardian: "Having the most successful catalog of songs in the world, alongside Lennon and McCartney." The band of Gibb brothers was famed for the influential 1977 "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack that became one of the fastest-selling albums of all time with its innovative fusion of harmony and pulsing dance floor rhythms, along with Night Fever and Jive Talkin'. They enjoyed success in every decade from the 1960s to the 2000s. Robin also charted intermittently as a solo artist. He released six solo albums between 1970 and 2006, and scored a British No 1 single as recently as 2009 with a new version of the Bee Gees' song 'Islands in the Stream', originally performed by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers for Comic Relief. Robin Gibb was born ...

Bee Gees - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart (1996)

"How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" I can think of younger days when living for my life Was everything a man could want to do. I could never see tomorrow,I was never told about the sorrow. And how can you mend a broken heart? How can you stop the rain from falling down? How can you stop the sun from shining? What makes the world go round? How can you mend this broken man? How can a loser ever win? Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again. I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees And misty memories of days gone by We could never see tomorrow, noone said a word about the sorrow. And how can you mend a broken heart? How can you stop the rain from falling down? How can you stop the sun from shining? What makes the world go round? How can you mend this broken man? How can a loser ever win? Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again.

I was a midnight rider on a cloud of smoke I could make a woman hang on every single stroke I was an iron man I had a master plan But I was alone I could hear you breathing With a sigh of the wind I remember how your body started trembling Oh, what a night it's been And for the state I'm in I'm still alone And all the wonders made for the Earth And all the hearts in all creation Somehow I always end up alone (Always end up alone) Always end up alone So I play (sha-la) I'll wait (I'll wait) 'Cause you know that love takes time (Livin' love between the lines) We came (sha-la) so far (so far) Just the beat of a lonely heart And it's mine And I don't wanna be alone Well, since I got no message on your answer phone Since you're busy every minute. I just stay at home I make believe you care I feel you everywhere But I'm still alone I'm on a wheel of fortune with a twist of fate 'Cause I know it isn't heaven, is it love or hate Am I the subject of the pain Am I the stranger in the rain I am alone And is there glory there to behold Maybe it's my imagination Another story there to be told So I play (sha-la) I'll wait (at times) And I pray it's not too late (tears that you cry) We came (sha-la) so far (so far) Just the beat of a lonely heart And it's mine And I don't wanna alone And all the wonders made for the Earth And all the hearts in all creation Another story there to be told So I play (sha-la) I'll wait (I'll wait) And I pray it's not too late (Livin' love between the lines ...

BEE GEES ~ MORE THAN A WOMAN ~.A VIDEO DEDICATED TO Tbirdtrisa...(TRISA),,,here is your favorite song,,,thanks for being a wonderful friend!,,,,sorry ,,i misspelled.the word woman in the beginning of this video,, Oh, girl I've known you very well I've seen you growing everyday I never really looked before but now you take my breath away. Suddenly you're in my life part of everything I do you got me working day and night just trying to keep a hold on you. Here in your arms I found my paradise my only chance for happiness and if I lose you now I think I would die. Oh say you'll always be my baby we can make it shine, we can take forever just a minute at a time. More than a woman, more than a woman to me more than a woman, more than a woman to me more than a woman, oh, oh, oh. There are stories old and true of people so in love like you and me and I can see myself let history repeat itself. Reflecting how I feel for you thinking about those people then I know that in a thousand years I'd fall in love with you again. This is the only way that we should fly this is the only way to go and if I lose you I know I would die. Oh say you'll always be my baby we can make it shine, we can take forever just a minute at a time. More than a woman, more than a woman to me more than a woman, more than a woman to me more than a woman, oh, oh, oh.

Robin Gibb Dead (Bee Gees Member) RIP

Robin Gibb RIP :( Part of yahoo.com story: full story here: yhoo.it Bee Gees had the key hits on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, which topped The Billboard 200 album chart for 24 weeks in 1978. It's one of only seven albums since 1955 to log 24 or more weeks at #1. It's the longest-running #1 album by artists who were born in England. (Adele's 21, which has been #1 for 23 weeks, is second in that regard.) In an eerie coincidence, last week's episode of Glee was a tribute to the album. It was the series' second episode-length tribute to a classic album, following its salute to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours which aired in May 2011. At their peak in 1978, Bee Gees were virtually as hot and inescapable as any act of the rock era. That includes Elvis Presley in 1956, the Beatles in 1964 and Michael Jackson in 1983-1984. For two weeks in February and March 1978, the trio had three hits in the top 10 simultaneously: "How Deep Is Your Love," "Stayin' Alive" and "Night Fever." In addition to those monster hits, Barry and Robin had a co-writing credit on a fourth song in the top 10 (Samantha Sang's creampuff ballad "Emotion") and Barry had co-writing credit on a fifth (Andy Gibb's "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water.") Bee Gees (there's no "the" in their name, just as there's no "the" in Eagles or Carpenters) had 15 top 10 hits, which puts them in a three-way tie for the most top 10 hits by a family group since 1955. They're tied with the Everly Brothers and the Beach Boys, which, in its ...

Originally intended for Yvonne Elliman, it was ultimately used as part of the soundtrack to the film Saturday Night Fever. It was a number three hit in the United Kingdom and Australia. In the United States, it topped the Billboard Hot 100 on 24 December 1977 (becoming the first of six consecutive US number-one hits) and stayed in the Top 10 for a then-record 17 weeks. The single spent six weeks atop the US adult contemporary chart. It is listed at # 20 on Billboard's All Time Top 100.[1] Alongside "Stayin' Alive", it is one of the group's two tracks on the list. The song was covered by Take That for their 1996 Greatest Hits album, reaching number-one on the UK Singles Chart for three weeks. The song was ranked #366 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In a British TV special shown in December 2011, it was voted "The Nation's Favourite Bee Gees Song" by ITV viewers.
