He raised the bar with his unprecedented ropeswing triple backflip into the Truckee River. In case you missed it, the release point on this particular rope swing was 60 feet high, and Mike was over land for a majority of the jump...until he somehow torpedoed into the narrow "window of opportunity" section of the river. Wilson stomped, stomped, and stomped some more...to which you would think he would go home and rest. Not the case. Wilson's a Beast! Instead of patting himself on the back while claiming illest rope swing/extremist in the western hemisphere, Mike Wilson lost sleep, weight and sanity thinking about how he was going to one-up himself. The creative wheels started turning and the hit was on...Wilson concocted a quadruple back flip off a 99 foot rope swing into the royal blue depths of Lake Tahoe. With the unique combination of childlike eagerness and calculated focus, Mike crafted a pulley system conducive to rocking a quadruple back flip. Kain Saul Backflips a XR1200 Harley Davidson to dirt
12:55pm Saturday 28 November 2009. The first time in the world that a Harley Davidson has been back flipped to Dirt. Kain Saul from the Gold Coast-Australia, was the mad man behind the bars. The XR1200 Sportster was supplied by Harley Davidson Australia and prepared by Gavin Walker and co from Quick Fix Harley Davidson Mildura, The bike tips the scales at 257 kilo and has around 100 horsepower. Here are the modifications they made: -STD Harley Street rod rear shocks -Tag handle bars -Strengthened triple trees -WP front forks with heavier springs and valving -Chain drive with the standard swing arm -KTM front master cylinder the rear brake pedal was removed -Knobby tires The jump took place in Victoria at one of Cam Sinclair's practice compounds that is owned by Russ and the boys. Cam Sinclair is the first person to throw a double backflip into a freestyle run. He was there to give a hand, he is pretty handy at flipping things. Filmed and edited by Firestorm Films. Taken with a Canon Vixia HF200 bit.ly Can you imagine a Monster Jam monster truck doing a back flip, successfully? Well, we were lucky enough to be there! Plus, who else would you expect, but from Travis Pastrana's truck -- the guy that practically invented doing back flips with machines. :) Made the whole event worth the admission. Max D back flip was not in competition and not a full back flip. No, Travis Pastrana was not driving, it was Cam McQueen. No, Nitro Circus did not win, as the monster truck backflip was done in bonus, not regulation time, so he could only get so many points. Grave Digger won the freestyle contest. Nothing broke on the Nitro Circus monster truck. Cam drove the truck away after the back flip...after coming into the stands, first.
