R/C Boat's Rocket Attack Backfires
More info: www.RapidNadion.com Many of our longtime viewers have called on us to make a video showing our R destroyer attacking our R/C aircraft carrier. We finally decided to heed those requests ... but the results were quite unexpected! In multiple attacks, the missiles (bottle rockets) became lodged in the launch tubes due to warped guidance rods ... and exploded on deck! Others fell overboard and became torpedoes. The end result, the carrier steaming away without a scratch, was pretty funny ... and the high-speed footage of the explosions aboard 702 was too good to pass up. We hope you enjoy it. Held a sign on the sidewalk when cops showed up & tried to chase me away with no luck, then I turned the tide & educated a group of hs students on how to stand up to cops when they are abusing their authority to the point where it infringes on your rights. As with the contemporary Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 'Flogger' and Sukhoi Su-17 'Fitter' projects, the advantages of variable-geometry wings seemed attractive, allowing a combination of short take-off performance, efficient cruising, and good high-speed, low-level ride. The result was a new swing-wing aircraft called Samolët 145, derived from the Tu-22, with some features borrowed from the abortive Tu-98 'Backfin'. The first prototype, Tu-22M0, first flew 30 August 1969. The resultant aircraft was first seen by NATO around that time. For several years it was believed in the West that its service designation was Tu-26. During the SALT negotiations of the 1980s the Soviets insisted it was the Tu-22M. At the time, Western authorities suspected that the misleading designation was intended to suggest that it was simply a derivative of the Tu-22 rather than the far more advanced and capable weapon it actually was. Lamborghini Gallardo LP600 Reiter GT3 SOUND - Backfires, Flames & Acceleration!!
This is a race version of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and it's called Gallardo LP600 GT3. It has been powered for the race by the german team Reiter Engineering. The engine can produce 600 horsepower at 8000 RPM. You can see it racing around the track and hear a lot of lovely backfires while downshifting with some flames. Radial Engine Test Stand Run Backfires
Here's all the video I got of our fun project. The test stand is a mix of parts put together over the years to mount different engines on. This engine is a 9 cylinder Pratt and Whitney R-985 Wasp Jr. from the 40's. It had been sitting in storage for years. We convinced our instructor to let us mount it and run. It took awhile to get the magneto timing figured out. The day we ran it I did one last check of the timing, but failed to check that my top-dead-center indication was on the compression stroke. So, soon as the backfire occurred, i realized what I had ommited, quickly pulled the mags off, re-found tdc, and got the timing right. it started up quickly but a bad oil pressure line kept us from running it more that day. In the week following, it ran great many times. Our smallest guy in class even started it by hand propping. Sadly, no good videos were taken. It was a great experience in A&P school. After this we did turbines and got the j-34 in my other video running.
