This year, the Filmfare Awards was hosted by the King Khan Shahrukh Khan and the charming Ranbir Kapoor who bought the house down with their wit and humour. There were power packed performances with the beautiful Kareena Kapoor, vivacious Priyanka Chopra, charming Deepika Padukone and the sizzling Rakhi Sawant setting the stage on fire. The newly wedded star couple Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza performed on the evergreen Pehla Nasha while SRK brought back his Dilwale days dancing to Mehendi Laga Ke Rakhna . Zindagi Na Miley Dobara took away the award for the Best Movie while Rockstar Ranbir won the Best Actor Award. Vidya Balan with her "ooh La la" performance won the Best Actress award"

Fred Rogers Accepts the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 24th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Throughout his career Fred Rogers, both on television and off, emphasized the importance of creating a peaceful environment, and world where all children could grow and learn. "Our goal as a nation must be to make sure that no child is denied the chance to grow in knowledge and character from their very first years," Rogers said at a White House gathering for Early Childhood Initiative, a program for promoting literacy. "In Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, every child is welcome into the world of learning -- not just a few, not just ones from certain neighborhoods, but every child." My brother Kyle (US Army) was recently awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery & sacrafice during a 50+ lb. IED bomb that blew up his artillery vehicle with 6+ other soldiers inside. With four fractured vertebrae, Kyle managed to carry his comrades to safety. I am incredibly proud of his bravery and I appreciate everything the military does for our safety and freedom.
