Japan Airlines Boeing 777-300ER (JA736J) landing at NRT (Tokyo - Narita Int'l Airport in Japan) under a heavy crosswind condition. At 0:32 you will notice a sudden "loss of altitude" probably due to a wind shear (and you can hear SCREAMs from visitors), but the pilots kept the aircraft in the air and finally touched down safely :D From METAR database, wind shear was observed around that time. i don't know whether this situation is dangerous or not because i am not an aviation expert. plz give applause to the JAL's professional pilots XDXDXD Date: Mar. 20, 2010 15:55JST Runway: 16R Location: Sakuranoyama park Flight: JL0402 from LHR (London - Heathrow Airport in UK) Camera: DMC-TZ7 (w/o tripod)

Continental Pilot Dies In Flight - Plane Lands Safely
The captain of Continental Airlines flight 61 has died while flying the plane from Brussels to New York. The plane made an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport shortly before 1200 (1600 GMT). Two co-pilots were in control of the plane - a Boeing 777 carrying 247 passengers - said Federal Aviation Authority spokeswoman Arlene Salac. An aviation expert told the BBC it was "very rare" for pilots to die while at the controls on an airborne plane. Jim Ferguson said it must have been "very difficult" and distressing for the co-pilots to land the plane safely. The captain apparently died of natural causes, a Continental Airlines spokesman told CNN. He was a 60-year-old man with more than 20 years of service to the airline, a spokesman for the airline said. Lucky landing There were two co-pilots on board - the regular co-pilot and, in an apparent stroke of good fortune, an additional relief co-pilot. Only two pilots are required on twin-engine planes like the Boeing 777, but Mr Ferguson - an aviation writer from the UK - told BBC News the plane would be difficult to land with only one pilot at the controls. "You could, I gather, land a 777 single-handed - but it would require a lot of effort and it would appear [in this case there was] a very young co-pilot - so if there was another one, that would help. "It would be very difficult, very distressing. I don't know if this [scenario] is carried out on simulator training or not. "But it's very, very rare - and ...

Americans Finally Waking Up to Spy Drones
A mystery object, thought to be a military or law enforcement drone, flying in controlled airspace over Denver almost caused a catastrophic mid air crash with a commercial jet Monday. The pilot of the Cessna jet radioed air traffic controllers to warn them that "A remote controlled aircraft" had flown past his plane far too close for comfort. "Something just went by the other way ... About 20 to 30 seconds ago. It was like a large remote-controlled aircraft." the pilot said in the transmission that was captured on the live air traffic audio website liveatc.net. The craft was reported as being about 8000 feet above sea level, or about 2800 feet above the ground, at the time the pilot reported the seeing it. It did not show up on radar. The type of drones used by NATO typically fly at 10000 feet and below. Other tactical military drones can fly up to 18000 feet. Denver 9News reports that the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, which it has described as potentially "extremely dangerous." "The threat is there from a collision standpoint," an FAA spokesman said. In a statement to USA Today, the agency said: "The FAA is investigating the incident and will try to positively identify the object the Citation pilot reported, where it came from and who was operating it." Aviation expert and former NTSB investigator Greg Feith told 9News that he believed the object could have been either a military or police drone. www.infowars.com by Steve Watson www ...

9/11: Impossible Speed & Impact -- Busted! Updated
This video demonstrates that the speed of the aircraft which hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center, on 9/11, did not exceed the design limitations of its airframe or engines, and that the way in which the aircraft breached the wall of the building was feasible. The video has been updated (from an earlier U-Tube version) to correct a mistake in the kinetic energy formula, and to include previously unavailable clips of low-flying aircraft, rather than the supersonic jet car ThrustSSC. The picture of Carmen Taylor with her Sony Mavica camera has also been replaced, because I was informed that Associated Press had altered the image in its viewfinder to one which Ms Taylor could not have taken. The picture is now the one originally released by AP (or so I am told). I would add that, as far as I know, Ms Taylor had nothing to do with these changes, and that the veracity of her story remains unchanged. For details on FAA permissible airspeeds: rgl.faa.gov For an explanation of why the speed was possible look for: "Flight 175 speed absolutely possible" forums.randi.org Additional expert advice and opinion: The F4 Phantom is being flown by Captain Field McConnell, in the refuelling shot, and in the following shot he is almost at ground level at a speed in excess of 600 knots—over 690 mph. As he has since remarked in an e-mail to me: "Engines don't choke." Following some critical comments from the usual armchair aviation experts, I e-mailed this formally-phrased question to ...
San Augustin UFO Crash - C2C 1/14
Monday March 3rd, 2008 Secret UN Meeting First hour guest, Exopolitics pioneer Michael Salla presented information about an alleged secret UN meeting on UFOs. A French aviation expert told him that the UN meetings were held over a three day period in February to discuss a confidential report regarding the societal impact of UFOs. San Augustin UFO Crash UFO Historian Art Campbell shared details about a UFO crash on the Plains of San Augustin, New Mexico which reportedly occurred the same time as the Roswell Incident in July 1947. Both episodes were likely due to the same air collision, he said, noting that San Augustin is 165 miles west of Roswell. The discoverer of the crashed object in San Augustin was an engineer named Barney Barnett-- while at the site, he ran into an archeological team that later denied they were there, Campbell recounted. Barnett described seeing a disc-shaped craft that was 25-30 ft. in diameter, which was split on the side. Dislodged from the vehicle, were 3-4 bodies. In what was perhaps the first description of the "greys," he described seeing hairless 3½-4 ft. beings in gray jumpsuits with oddly set eyes. Barnett thought initially they might be connected with the atomic energy field before realizing they were "not of this Earth." While Campbell was investigating the site beginning in 1994, he collected some interesting evidence, including a biomorphic object he dubbed the artifact which he was told was made out of high-density polyethylene. Miracle on the Hudson Plane Wreckage, Sully Sullenberger convoy Robbinsville NJ
(AP) HARRISON, NJ - This time the river crossing was a lot slower, and a lot drier. The US Airways plane whose safe landing on the Hudson River captivated the world two years ago rolled out of a warehouse and across the Passaic River on Saturday morning to begin the trek to a North Carolina museum where it will become a piece of American history. Accompanied by a phalanx of police cars and film crews, the damaged Airbus A320 eased out of the J. Supor and Sons warehouse lot where it has sat since the splashdown in January 2009 made its pilot, Capt. Chesley Sullenberger, a national hero. With traffic stopped and people rolling down their windows to take pictures with their cell phones, the flatbed truck crossed the river into Newark, took a left onto Route 21 South and then a right toward the heart of downtown. The caravan passed the Prudential Center Arena before turning onto Broad Street, the city's main drag, for a few blocks before heading southwest. US Airways Flight 1549 was bound for Charlotte from New York on Jan. 15, 2009, when it struck a flock of geese after takeoff and lost power in both engines. Sullenberger considered trying to land at nearby Teterboro Airport in New Jersey but quickly recognized that would be too risky and elected to touch the plane down in the frigid Hudson. Within minutes, rescue boats and commuter ferries arrived and eventually rescued all 155 passengers and crew. The riveting scene was captured in photographs showing passengers lined up ...
Aviation Lawyer Charles Brewer " Northwest Pilots "
The Federal Aviation Administration on Tuesday revoked the licenses of the two Northwest Airlines pilots who overshot their Minneapolis destination by 150 miles. The pilots — Timothy Cheney of Gig Harbor, Wash., the captain, and Richard Cole of Salem, Ore., the first officer — told safety investigators they were working on their personal laptop computers and lost track of time and place. The pilots, who were out of communications with air traffic controllers for 91 minutes, violated numerous federal safety regulations in the incident last Wednesday night, the FAA said in a statement. The violations included failing to comply with air traffic control instructions and clearances and operating carelessly and recklessly, the agency said. "You engaged in conduct that put your passengers and your crew in serious jeopardy," FAA regional counsel Eddie Thomas said in a letter to Cheney. Northwest Flight 188 was not in communications with controllers or the airline dispatchers "while you were on a frolic of your own. ... This is a total dereliction and disregard for your duties." Phoenix Arizona Aviation Law Expert Charlie Brewer says it's likely their laptops blocked the navigation instruments. Learn more at www.legalbroadcastnetwork.com

Air India Plane Crash Kills 158 (HD video)
At least eight people have been rescued from an Air India Express plane that crashed with 166 people on board in the southern city of Mangalore today, the state-run carrier has said. "As far as the information available with us is concerned, eight persons were rescued and shifted to local hospitals in Mangalore for their treatment," Anup Shrivasta, Air India personnel director, told a news briefing in Mumbai. "Air India is right now busy in confirming the casualties," Shrivastava said. The plane, which took off in Dubai, crashed outside an airport in southern India around early this afternoon (NZ time), killing at least 160 people when it burst into flames after overshooting the runway and ploughing into a forest. One eyewitness said the plane skidded off the runway in rain at Mangalore airport in Karnataka state. Air India Express is the budget arm of state-run carrier Air India. "At least 160 passengers have died in the crash," VS Acharya, home minister of the southern state of Karnataka, told reporters. "At least five to six people have been taken to hospital, their condition is not known." First indications are that the crash was an accident, officials say. Television channels said the plane crashed around 6.30am (12.30pm NZ time). TV images showed it struck a forested area. Flames were seen blazing from of some of the wreckage as rescue workers fought to bring the fire under control. Bhoja Air Crash
www.facebook.com A Pakistani passenger plane crashed near the capital, Islamabad, on Friday evening and at least 127 people on board were feared dead. The plane belonged to Bhoja Air, a private Pakistani airline, with 118 passengers and 9 crew members on board. Bad weather was reported to be a factor in the crash, according to initial reports in local news media. A statement by the country's defense ministry said an investigation had been ordered. Bhoja Air, based in the southern port city of Karachi, began flights in 1993 but suspended operations in 2001 because of financial trouble. It resumed operations early this year. Friday's flight was the first on the Karachi-Islamabad route. The crash comes nearly two years after an Airblue plane fell in the Margalla Hills near Islamabad in fog and heavy rain. It was the deadliest crash in Pakistan's history, and left 152 passengers dead. The Bhoja Air plane took off at 5 pm from Karachi. Witnesses said they saw a fireball in the sky at about 6:40 pm before the plane plummeted in a village, Hussainabad, about six miles away from the Islamabad's international airport. Saifur Rehman, a rescue official, said the plane wreckage was spread over a large area and the debris had caught fire. "There are dead bodies lying all around," he said, adding that the plane had crashed in a neighborhood with few residents. At least four houses were destroyed, but it was not immediately clear if there were any casualties on the ground. Rescuers ...
